Having a base near water is a tactical advantage as it limits the point of entry (unless u are dealing with submarines or amphibious frog ninjas)

Son of Tiamat I always interpreted it as she just couldn't cope anymore and she was hoping Riou would stop fighting and let someone else take over then she'd find him. Still a dick move though

Did you know: 1. There's a hidden point to actually unlock the "true ending" in Suikoden V where the prince serve as the Commander of the Queen's Knight. Temporarily called "Lym points" because it does depends on your interraction with Lymsleia, if you being mean to her the whole game, instead of choosing whether you want to follow Georg or Stay, the ending scene where the Prince left the Queendom being automatically played instead 2. Viki experience Suikoden the same way as the players do, so she starts by blewing up the wrong way from the very first Suikoden and disappear on every victory on each series into the next series. She sneezed on the ending of Suikoden V into pressmably the world of Suikoden VI (if it ever gonna came out at all)

@@farahani8291 . The entire Viki thing is totally screwed up. Technically she goes from S1-5 in order, thus the reason she tells the Prince she has met Jeane a lot if times in many different places, yet when she sees Lorelai she doesn't recognize her. I really think that the developers themselves didn't put much attention to what they were doing with her progression in the game.

Pigbenpus Wow "fun fact" lol sure. That definitely explains why they still made suikoden 5 and a multitude of portable games afterwards. No game killed the franchise, the franchise died because the developer team disbanded, and it was no final fantasy for konami to be interested in keeping it alive.

Matty K no, he's right. SIV, as much a I liked it killed its potential mainstream market. Suikoden V is just a last ditch to save the franchise from obscurity but commercially failed badly as the aftermath of SIV flop. Tierkries and the PSP game aren't even considered a real Suikoden game.

No, thank you. After all the disappointment I had with the remakes of RE2, RE3, and FF7, I am super okay with continuing playing original Suikoden 2, which is also my favorite game ever. I don't want them to ruin it with their "rEiMaGiNaTiOn".

Suikoden I: hands down, best of the best along with Suikoden II Suikoden II: above Suikoden III: tbh, I don't really enjoy Suikoden III in terms of gameplay. but the story is really nice. AND THE MUSIC THO!? *crying clapping* Suikoden IV: honestly, you can hate me all you want, but Suikoden IV provided an entirely new War system, and that system is probably the best. at least for me Suikoden V: BEST STORY AND GAMEPLAY EVA

I really wish suikoden tactics would get the recognition it deserves, because even though it's considered a spin off title, it still offers a massive chunk of the canon story, is a direct sequel to suikoden 4, has a solid story itself and gives details on the suikoden multiverse, tying the whole suikoden franchise together. Not to mention it's possibly one of the best, if not the best, tactics games ever.

Matty K it doesn't really tie the whole setting together, it just adds more details for 4. It's also technically a prequel as well since the opening mission is before the events of 4

Pigbenpus Wow yes I am aware. However the whole multiverse concept was at the core of the game's story. That gives confirmation that tierkreis is actually canon as well. I don't think any mainline game's story relied so heavily on the multiverse concept than tactics.

suiken personal preference I guess. I just haven't seen an srpg implement elements and spellcasting the way suikoden tactics did. Plus it adapted the spells, runes and combo attacks from the main series seamlessly.

I always considered Thomas to be the MC since he is the most stable story of the 4 Main roles. Cecil was single handedly one of my favorite characters and least favorite all because they (I refuse to acknowledge them as male or female since both seem wrong to me), are such hardcore Defense cannons. So good at taking and giving physical damage... in a game with a lot of non-physical atks. Franchise favorite character though is Vicky, because only she could be klutzy enough to accidentally appear in the same "era" twice and be able to team up with herself.

@@SeventhheavenDK When playing his chapters I started doubting that... Well I at least thought that he was less optional than Hugo. Man were the 3 main paths not equal; I liked Chris best of them and Hugo worse; if you include Thomas then Thomas was 2nd best of the 4. Hugo always felt like an after thought when I compared him to the other 3 storylines. That one black chick in his party was a decent addtion to that team (I think bow and arrow were her weapon); she was an awesome Earth magic person that I found indespensible. The roguish old man with queen and jack on his team was both interesting and to long as chapters; he is in 3rd because his story was not concise but I liked it otherwise, also his team was fun to fight with for me... unlike Hugo or early Thomas. Chris is my fav in part because I dig female knights; I also felt that without her part then the majority of the story would not work. Hugo may have been central to the plot but Chris actually felt important where Hugo was told as if he was. Her party was one of the funnest because she was not overpowered in comparrison to her companions. Best characters of the game though is Vikki (young and old).

1 , 2 and 3 are my favorites.

9:50 slain is a bit of an understatement, he (i always thought it was a female based on the role and actions taken by the character, you know a mother figure) he was eaten alive and not like chomp and he's gone no it was slow and painful and worce yet they probably remember it all when you bring them back, as much as this is my favourite and a beloved game that taught me to read when schools have given up on me dam did this bit horrifie me.

I do like 4 but the ocean travel was not my favorite. I think I set it to auto travel and played a gameboy game while waiting. But the story was fun. 2 was the first I played and loved that one but overall I think 5 is my favorite

I'd like to see something on Tierkries the battles we're not extremely hard but overall the game was good and the story was really good

The end of Suikoden II has more to do with what you choose to do rather than acquiring the 108 stars

Forgot the Suikoden Woven Web of Centuries? Did that occur after everything?

S4 wasn't *that* bad. The main problem was the storyline, which was too short and didn't expand into the Kooluk empire. Graham Cray had Luca Blight-potential, but was grossly under developed. The same with Colton and Troy. The second problem was landscape design. A couple of the islands looked boring and depressing with few details, and sea travel was monotonous. On the plus side, you got one of the darkest true runes of the series, possibly only eclipsed by the soul eater, which also reappears through Ted. Lino en Kuldes is one of the greatest leaders seen in a Suikoden game to date, imo. You could build weapons and armour. Music was mostly pretty cool, and the Ritapon minigame is probably the best in the series. Suikoden Tactics was excellent, enjoyed that from start to finish and it concluded the story of Kooluk, but should have been a part of Part 4.

Having played through the game again Isaac can't disagree. Most of his opinion about Suikoden 4 definitely came from his love for the game series stemming from 4 being the first one he played. But when compared with the others, it's super short, without digging into it or assuming allot of stuff it's comparatively sparse on story and let's face it as soon as you can teleport hardly anyone sails unless absolutely necessary. (telling me at least that it was definitely not the best mode of travel). All of that being said. Isaac still loves it for the characters, As you mentioned one of the greatest leaders of all time in Lino en Kuldes, Not just a King but a true leader. The COOLEST RUNE in the game series. (again IMO) I also loooove boats, sailing ships, all of that. And while super easy to over lvl if you never run the game still has challenges along the way. And yes Ritapon is amazing. :P Suikoden Tactics is also very fun. But I can agree that the additional story points would have been better to include in 4.

But I thought George Prime was one of the six great general of scarlet moon empire? During kalekka incident, George showed disapproval and fled to Falena and became Ferid's trusted ally? Is it not the case?

You’re correct. George was the 6th great general. He departed to Falena after Kalleka due to his friendship with Ferid.

I maybe alone with my opinion but I think that the suikoden series was a better series than final fantasy it just didn't have as big of a following. I would love to see this series revived but know it will never happen

nice timeline but why did you put the focus in suikoden 2 on jowey? i know he and his story is important, but still, riou is the mc of suikoden 2 and the unification of the jowston city states in the dunan war is more relevant in terms of plot o.o

Because the central point of the plot really is the conflict between the Sword and Shield runes. Jowey's plot is therefore incredibly important, as they were destined to have to clash with each other. Their stories mirror each other in multiple ways, in order for the destined conflict between them to happen.

This timeline will never matter again bros. Hikusaak won. The Circle Rune has made this timeline forever loop. Our heroes changed nothing, because the Circle Rune refuses to let the future change.

it should be good if we actually have the Yubel and Pesmerga closure, Sindar Mystery, Viki Mystery and so on. S3 should be the greatest of all 5 but instead the perfect wrap out that ties things together since S3 indirectly involving Harmonia, Komoney let the saga dies.

Actually no, and precisely the Falenna family having silver hair was one of the reasons they gave Jeane pink hair in SuikoV, so people would not confuse her as part of them.

We thought it's mentioned in this video, if we didn't you can check out our video on Ted himself. But the timeline is accurate. Ted does appear in Suikoden 4, yes. But in Suikoden 1 when we get a shot of his history, where it's revealed that he's several hundred years old. Tierkreis is not a "Cannon" game. By that we mean that it does not take place in the same universe/planet, etc. As Suikoden 1-5. in fact it doesn't even imply a rune mechanic, replacing it with instead chronicles for magic. So while for some reason it shares a name with the games and even similar play styles it's not a core game and doesn't make it into the core game timeline.

Suikoden V needed some serious polish. That game felt empty, with slow pacing and had abysmal load times for a visually uninteresting late gen PS2 game...but damn it definitely had the same heart as Suiko I and II...I think Konami is to blame for rushing the development of that game.

Wow! Somebody said that Suikoden 4 was he's favorite game... Well Suikoden 2 is the best of the series but 5 is my favorite! Is underrated thanks in part of how awful the 4 was.

there are a bit of lore missing, Sukoden Tactics takes place before and after IV, and there is more for 2 and 3, giving some story to Nash Viki is a fun character, showing up in different places and times outside the natural order of time. she even meets lorelai twice, as lorelai mentions an encounter with viki she had yet to have. she even ends up in the same place twice at the same time allowing u to recruit a young and older viki also u missed the ds n psp.......SURELY THEY ARE PART OF THE STORY

So as mentioned: We only covered the core games, which means no Suikoden Tactics (though we did give Tactics its own video, link here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/aoaBzst_pZffkdo.html) As for the DS and PSP games, Tierkries and Genso Suikoden, those are neither considered canon, nor, even if they were, are they in the same world as the core games. Thus, canon or not, they don't share the same story, because they don't take place in the same world. (One of them doesn't even have runes for its magic system.) Hope that clears things up, and sorry if we missed details from 2 and 3.

suiko 3 & 5 has weird stat mechanic, suiko 3 all SoD had no physical def stat, suiko 5 all SoD has the same physical def stat, suiko 2 has the best stat mechanic

@@timtams_6 1&4 stat mechanic are same as 2, but less detailed because it doesn't tell you how much the stats grows when the char level up

Heres what baffles me a little bit when I see the timeline Suikoden II takes place 3 years after Suikoden ? Yet in Suikoden II when (SPOILER ALERT!!!!): Victor and Flik saves Ryu and Jowy from the execution, Rowd runs away, Victor says "I Could have had him 5 years ago" This has allways had my interest in the stories, what happened 5 years ago between Victor and Rowd? Has this even been explained?

Nothing happened between them. It was just Victor's way of saying he is feeling older.

I have to be honest: Suikoden Tierkreis has by far the best storyline. Personal opinion. I don't really care for political squabbles and overthrowing a baaad bad government. Fighting a demigod and his army in and with other parallel universes, though? Fuck yeah!

There's actually 2 different endings for Suikoden V. Just sayin. One where if you've collected enough "Lymslia points" you end the game as the new Commander of the Queens Knights. Otherwise, The prince, Lyon and Georg all leave Felena together

That is true, you are absolutely correct. For brevity we simply focused on the full 108 star, "best ending" scenarios for each of the games, touching only lightly on the other possible endings.

If we recall accurately you're correct. We simply decided to focus on the numbered installments to save time and for thematics. So, short answer, yes, we are missing Tactics, ironically we figured we'd have people asking about the other two games if we did include it, guess that happened anyway, lol.

Haha aa :) there are also 2 Visual novel stile Japanese only games that taks plase during suikoden 2 as well but yes i can understand only useing the nuberd ones.

I don't Like suikoden tactics since other character will be killed hahaha but I manage to end the story

Only the very begining of tactics takes place before 4. But the majority of it takes place after 4. So, it shold be Tactics, 4, Tactics, 5, 1, 2, 3. But he clearly said he was only counting the main series because you also have the gaiden games.

The protagonist's mission in Suikoden I is Marxist AF.

Attempting to save & liberate victims of genocide (Elves' Village)/(WWII)? Most of the game is about saving the lower classes from the wealthy, tyrannical Empire.

I wanted to give a thumbs up, but the pronunciations are bad. Did you play S5? They actually say the names in the game. And it is not "Sweekoden," it is Su-ee-ko-den.
