That actually doesn't work, the first 10 minutes of the movie were edited by the company who made this trailers. And IMHO that 10 minutes were one the worst parts of the movie. They were supposed to build the characters, but there was only lots of music.

***** I'm seeing it tomorrow. I sometimes do a podcast with some buddies of mine and we often talk about nerd stuff like movies and comics. Often movies. We're all seeing it this weekend and will probably get together to review it. I'm going despite the reviews it's fun to see bad movies and riff them in my head or when I'm around buddies at home. (I don't do that in theaters, but I can't help laughing at dumb stuff sometimes. My wife hated me seeing Twilight with her lol)

yeah, makes me wonder how much they cut and reshuffled scenes. A darker film overall might've been more consistent.... contrary to what WB seems to think, the darker, more realistic tone in DC movies makes me prefer it over Marvel.

This movie deserves Ayer cut. Just look at the stark difference between JL's theatrical release and Snyder cut. Ayer cut of this movie could've been as good as this trailer. I think HBO or someone else should give this movie a chance as well.

This version of the film looks vastly better than the almost 2 hour music video we got instead. The tone, color palet, even Jared Letos Joker looked great. Unfortunate we never got to see this movie.

I feel that the entire build up of the trailer also adds to the terror. It’s almost like WB was preparing to unleash Joker upon Batman in later films and this would have been the starting point.

He also said because of other comic book movies' success, his vision had to be reshot and changed into a "comedy". He compared it to Joker and said that it was just as dark. I actually found him to be the most frightening/intimidating version of the joker, because he's a cold, calculating, manipulative sociopath (as seen in how he got Harley Quinn, one of the most badass women in DC, wrapped around his little finger - by ticking every box in emotionally abusive and controlling partner bingo) which is someone you can very easily imagine existing IRL - because they already do (whereas psychotic trigger happy clowns - not so much 😂)

Man David Ayer can make a film. The movie he did before this was fury and it won a bunch of awards . End of watch is amazing and harsh times.... let's not forget he wrote training day . Those movies are in line with more of his style. The editor of suicide squad said it was originally darker and more militarized. I can see that , most movies he made were about military and cops. Suicide squad originally was supposed to be fully scored most likely and leave all the popular music out. I bet we will see that film one day.

Funny thing is everyone complaining about Joker's look and all that, but he has no set look. He has no set personality. He has no set anything. Being psychotic and having green hair is about it. I fucking love that they're doing something completely different, because if they didn't you all would complain that he's just copying Ledger. Even when we see something different you all still bitch. Maybe it'll work or maybe it won't, but the important thing is he looks and acts downright fucking terrifying and psychotic and that's all that really matters.

***** The funny part is that people were saying the same shit about Heath Ledger and how he could never do a better job than Jack Nicholson did with the Joker before Dark Knight was released, and he blew Nicholson's Joker away. Who's to say that Leto can't top Ledger's Joker and set a new standard? Not saying I think he will (because Ledger's Joker is probably my favorite character in any movie ever), but how can you talk shit about Leto when you see five second of him in a trailer? People need to calm the hell down with all the criticisms and see the entire movie first. They're not even done with the filming yet

I think that's what makes joker interesting, he can be played in such a broad range of styles and each one is just as interesting to watch as the last. I thought the last scene portrayed a pretty obvious joker, like he definitely has the joker voice and the look is more jagged but I think it's cool. Obviously everyone's gonna compare it to ledgers joker, and ledgers was fucking awesome, but I still can't wait to see how this incarnation is pulled off.

This trailer gives me full body goosebumps I wish the whole movie was this dark.

This is version i want to see.. Ayer's version of movie before studio got involved with massive changes..

You know what the saddest thing is? THIS version of the movie would have been 1000 times better. I want dark, gritty, creepy, and intense. Not loud, pop, funny, and sarcastic. If the movie was as dark as this trailer, it would have been so much better. Oh, and there should have been more Joker.

Resention yes Leto said he shot enough footage for a whole Joker movie but WB cut almost all of it plus after the negative reviews of the theatrical version of BvS they wanted to make it lighter in tone so Suicide Squad went thru extensive reshoots like Flash wasn’t even in it Zack shot the scene for Ayer in London while shooting Justice League incunbus wasbt even the main villian Steppenwolf was

Apparently this trailer represents David Ayer's original vision of the movie. After Batman V Superman sank (which was also heavily edited, check out the Ultimate Edition) and Deadpool succeeded they decided to turn it into the comedy. Same thing happened to Justice League after Snyder left the project. They hired Weadon to basically make this the next Marvel flick and it turned out to be this Frankenstein's monster of a movie we know today. Warner Bros, man. What a joke.

This is one of my favourite trailers I keep coming back too. It's 2022 and I remember in 2015 how happy I was that it was so dark . It was refreshing . But like a wet dream we all have to wake-up . Cause that's all it was .. A dream............

This was legitimately one of the best trailers I’d ever seen. The real tragedy is that almost none of it made it into the final movie, and what did was altered so much in tone that it really wound up being a totally different film as a result

+Concon i agree, jared leto hung out with real addicts to get prepared for requiem for a dream. the acting and the movie overall sent a chill down my spine because of how close it touched to home. Nicholsonm Ledger, and Leto are three different portrayals, and I love how they are unique in their own way.

I had tears(of excitement) when I watched this for the first time. Now I imagine what whole movie of this tone would've felt like.

From time to time I come to revisit this trailer. I wonder "What could have been?". I wish WB didn't serve us the monstrosity we got and one day we get to watch the original vision of David Ayer

Watching this trailer makes me cry, for what could have been never was...

Steppenwolf was meant to be the puppetmaster behind Enchantress, in that draft she was unwittingly creating an artificial boomtube for Steppenwolf to project an incarnation of himself on Earth. But the idea never made it past pre-prod. By the time they started filming, Incubus had completely replaced Steppenwolf.
