Michelle shares her story of losing her 24-year old son, Matt, to suicide in April 2019. Matt was in law school and was found on April 1 with a gunshot wound to his head. Michelle, her husband, and their daughter were left with so many questions. Matt was in law school and showed no signs of any depression or suicidal thoughts. He also left no note to help explain why he took his life. Michelle, who is also an educator, is now dedicating her life to spreading awareness about suicide and the heartache that it leaves behind.

Thank you for sharing your story. I'm so sorry for your loss. My 1st husband, my daughter's father shot and killed himself when I was 23 and our daughter was 1 years old. I'm now 56, and I still am affected by it.

Sorry for your loss ! I moved down south a few years back, bought a house for mom and I, have felt total depression and misery since having issues with a woman who I considered would be the right one. I have also mentioned to mom that we should get a gun for our protection. Now I understand why she says no.
I missed my brother, he commited suicide 6 months ago, and since then I live the darkest and hard time my life :(

I feel that may have caused it right there, all that overachieving and stressing too much on perfection. The fear of failure...can have more control over you psychologically than one would think.
I have listned to countless relatives of suicides and it seems most are male and most are esp. smart, honor role, into sports, have lots of friends and are the life of the party. So what is it about being so intelligent and doing well in sports etc. that makes some of these boys/men suicidal?
