Suella Braverman Believes the Rwanda Bill is 'Fatally Flawed'

Ойын-сауық

Former Home Secretary Suella Braverman previously stated that it was her 'dream' to see flights of asylum seekers leaving UK shores for Rwanda. However, she has now stated that the only way that she thinks that could happen would be if we were to leave the European Court of Human Rights. She says the Rwanda bill is 'fatally flawed' and won't provide the 'deterrent we need to stop the boats.'

If an illegal migrant is sent to Rwanda they are effectively banned from ever applying for asylum in the UK ever again. So maybe that's the deterrent? But I think this is a bad bill. I've looked into similar bills that other countries did such as Israel and Australia, and with respect to Australia it didn't even deter, they were still getting over 20,000 migrants in a year crossing via boats UNTIL, they began implementing a policy to turn back the boats and saw a drop within the first year (2014) to under 500 illegal immigrants in a year! That's the way forward. Turn back the boats.

@@davidgriffithsbjjcoach7207 but they’re only risking death because the potential reward is being in the UK. If there was a guarantee they’d be sent to Rwanda then they wouldn’t risk death in the first place as there is no chance of asylum in the UK. Although, I appreciate that there isn’t a guarantee of every illegal immigrant being sent to Rwanda at the moment, which is the main flaw in the whole plan.

@@emstirling-is4nu I was just saying this as a British taxpayer, would I be prepared to pay £3K + expenses + chartered flight + money to the Rwandan govt per pax, we're not talking a couple of hundred of these illegal immigrants, we're talking tens of thousands. Why should my money go to these people who don't pay tax ? If the whole world comes to our shores, I'm sure we'll be bankrupt.

I agree 100%...they have to go. However not Rwanda style. That way not only do we get them back but possibly more locals that the R govt want to get rid of as well. No one wants to take them any place as they are a high security risk and may indeed take over the mode of transport enroute. Most are from terrorist countries so its a distinct possibility. My idea would be to round up, put up in tents in a secure area under .tight security, given basic food water etc. and left to fend for themselves until deportation a few at at a time
