I beg to differ with Starmer on one point …. He says that Britain deserves better than this. Britain keeps voting for the Tories despite their shocking record on every aspect of British life. I have lived through many, many budget speeches. Never before have I heard one so vicious, so petty, so personally insulting to members of the Opposition, before, in my life. Hunt spent 1/3 of his time on the budget and 2/3 of the time doing a party political broadcast and hurling lies and false accusations at Labour. And my god, you’d think we’ve been living in a different planet to him for the last 14 years! The barefaced cheek of his lies was monumental. I thought Starmer made a decent job of his response.

Starmer unfortunately is a reformed communist who has found his way to power in a very clueless party. Well, but linking a point that needs to be made to a humorous reference, people are more likely to remember parts of the speech that he made. The speech was full of substance and might well have been quite dry otherwise.

Totally disagree about Sunak, he is only interested in himself but I do agree with your view on Starmer even though I thought his speech was very good I can not vote for him either because of the hidden factions behind what he stands for. As for many people now there is no choice who to vote for and possibly for the first time I may not vote. We are in a situation very similar to the states. One thing is for certain the conservatives will not win the next election.

Electricity & Gas tariffs going through the roof. Inceasing disabled nationl insurance payments in April but won't cover rises. I'm disabled not on so called "benefits" I paid national insurance for decades in and unfortunately had to give up work due to childhood bone disease. Its insulting to say we are on benefits a bloody disgrace we paid into a national insurance system. Makes me bloody sick!!! I get a national insurance payment not bloody benefits!!!!

My elderly and disabled mother spent her last 10 years in a care home, she lost everything she and my father had worked for for 2 lifetimes, and she was paying tax on her meagre pension until the day she died, robbed by the government to pay for illegal immigrant stop live forever in 5 star hotels. A year when in the winter 40,000+ pensioners froze to death as a direct result of Thatcher ruthlessly cutting the state pension, then in the Spring most of the pensioners still voting for her, imagine that. The same will happen at the next election, the Tories could force you all to live on an exclusive diet of shit sandwiches and come the election most of you'll come grovelling to their feet saying: "Please sir, I want some more". Glad I got out of this sh*t show over 10 years ago. I still have to bear the embarrassment (and long airport security lines) of having a British passport which no longer holds rank in the world as once before, but I thankfully no longer have to endure the whims & blatant self indulgence of the Eton Elite in power right now. I am a British immigrant and am so sad for all my friends and family I left behind whilst the current governance have robbed blind, lied and blundered their way from Brexit to "Rishi Recession" whilst my elderly mother is taxed on her pension which ranks amongst the lowest in Europe and waiting lists for cancer treatment have reached an all time high. I'm very uncertain that a labour government can right the wrongs of the last 14 years, not sure anyone amongst the green leather has a solitary clue what to do next to drag the UK out of the sticky bog of debt and post Brexit legacy. Sad times.

100%. The thing is, it really is a game to them, they are all very wealthy people and therefore unaffected by day to day struggles others face. They are so wealthy, in fact, that they cannot even begin to imagine themselves in the position that millions are in right now. What do they do? Use their positions to make themselves more money. Look at how many contracts rishi has given his wife’s dad during his short time and how much they are worth it’s astounding. The even funnier part is Labour are the exact same. I’m really sick and tired of politics in this country, the voting system needs to be scrapped we need to take them all out and start again. Won’t happen though, so nothing will ever change I don’t think. I’m moving soon so it won’t affect me for much longer but I really feel for those who are staying.
