I love listening to Sue Bird talk. She is so articulate and sharp and funny. She should definitely be an announcer but would love a talk show with her or a “Sue Bird explains everything” show.

In Bill Russell's autobiography he revealed that he made a deliberate decision NOT to announce his retirement at the beginning of his last season. He simply wanted to avoid the questions at press conferences for the entire season and prevent 'thank you' ceremonies at away games, etc. Every pro athlete handles the transition his or her own way and we fans just need to accept what is someone's personal choice.

The more and more I watch women's sports the more and more I enjoy women's sports. Plus another thing that I appreciate about women's sports is that alot more women then men keep it natural. Too much PED use with my gender, men, when it comes to sports, especially on a professional level. Hell to many boys in high school are using PED for sports today and even know of just your average Joe's going to LA Fitness taking PED to get bigger and stronger. There are women that use PED but on a much smaller scale then men. Hell there are probably much more average Joe's on PED at LA Fitness and other gyms across the country then professional female athletes.

I kind of disagree about expansion teams diluting the talent in the WNBA. The college game has gained so much parity where now we have 10-12 programs that can compete for the top spot (vs the UConn and Tennessee dominance of yesteryear) and the game has also grown overseas. There are a LOT of very talented players coming out every year and the WNBA is taking only a sliver of that. With expansion teams it just takes a few years to establish the right team culture and chemistry but it’s not a question of talent.

Question for Sue Bird, do think a female basketball player with your level skills sets can at least compete in the Male dominant NBA by coming in the game off the bench as a three point shooter? Seems that any girl basketball player with fast hands and a quick release could also play on any male dominant NBA teams. Considering that Larry Bird wasn't fast and didn't jump very high yet look at what he accomplished. If you can make accurate passes to a post up or open teammates under the basket from 27 to 40 feet away they will not guard any three point shooter close. The NBA should consider drafting a female three point shooters first in the summer league then the regular season.

WNBA players need to take a stand and just stay to play overseas. WNBA wants their cake and eat it too....$ talks, bs walks.

I can see a superstar getting stuck in a foreign country (see Britney), being suspended for the entire year and a) sues the crap out of the WNBA and b) spends the season bad mouthing the WNBA with every opportunity they have.
