    I’m Australian and so jealous of all the succulents you can find in your big box stores. Ours have a small selection that are sadly overwatered and overpriced. Oh, and my favourites are echeveria, sedums, senecio, graptoanythings, crassula and anything else I see on Instagram!

    I love dragon tails and crassula. But I've killed two dragon tails 😢so I'm not buying any new ones until I can keep what I have alive (about 26 out of 32 of many varieties that I bought from cuttings) and sprouting their own babies.

    I think 26 out of 32 is a good statistics. My older sister can’t manage to keep them alive. 😊 Even if she knows that overwatering is the number 1 succulent killer, she still waters them when they start looking unhealthy. 🤣 She has regular plants and she keeps thinking that succulents should be treated as such. 😅

    @@SucculentFame lol. I hope they stay alive and would grow and grow. 💝 the biggest problem for me in succulent keeping is first figuring out what kind they are and what the healthy speciments are supposed to look like. I have this two that I haven't figured out as what kind (and I have not seen them in any of the succulent channels), and they droop. Are they supposed to be that way? Or are they limp from being unhealthy? But no wrinkling of leaves falling off. They look like green branches with no leaves. Maybe you know what kind?

    It’s likely to be a Euphorbia if it doesn’t have any leaves. Try searching through the Euphorbia sections of Succulent Identification websites. They say there is an app that helps identify plants. I haven’t found the time to check it. It should be there in the app store. I’ll add it to my “to do” list today and hope to manage to squeeze it in. 😅

    Such a lovely variety. I’m guessing it is, up to a certain degree. How low does it go where you’re at? Although it’s been getting warmer (just a little) lately. Spring is officially here by the 21st. I think they will still be okay around the low 40’s. We’ve had temps of about mid 30’s or upper 30’s here and they all still seem to be okay. 😃 Also, if frost only stay for about an hour or two on them, I think they will still be okay. This is just what I’ve seen on mine, so far. Thank you for asking this question, Connie! I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈

    Hi Sheila! I really need a little bit of advice... 😁 I ordered Korean succulents online, and I just want to be prepared. They'll be shipping them bare rooted. Would you advice water therapy after receiving them? Also I'm living in the tropics so I'm quite worried on how they're gonna react to the change of climate. Any advice on that? I would love to hear from you. 🙂💖

  • @SucculentFame

    @SucculentFame

    5 жыл бұрын

    Hi, Aryen! 😃 How long will they be traveling? Like when did they ship and when will they arrive? Is your cactus soil mix damp or moist? Or is it dry? What’s your average temperature right now? My apologies for asking too many questions. 😁😅 Please answer all of them. I really need to gather these info to make sure that we are on the right track. I’m really excited for you. 😃

  • @aryentarg9961

    @@SucculentFame They'll be shipping them this 9/28 and estimated arrival will be on 10/13. My cactus soil is half vermicast and half pumice (did I answer this correctly? 😁 I'm not sure bout damp or dry). And average temp here is 31 during the day and 23 at night. Also humidity is quite high here. I very very much appreciate the questions tbh. ❤

  • @SucculentFame

    @SucculentFame

    5 жыл бұрын

    Thank you for those information, Aryen! 😃 So we got two options. Since they will be traveling for two weeks, we can do either of these. Option 1, water therapy for 3 to 4 days and plant them in dry soil (really dry soil) after. Then, no watering for 2 to 3 weeks. Option two, plant them immediately on damp or moist soil and dont water for 2 to 3 weeks (depending on humidity) after planting them. You would know if your soil mix is damp if the top soil looks really light in color, but when you dig about 3 inch deep, the soil looks darker. It would also be cooler to the touch if it is damp or moist. Dry soil would easily create a cloud of dust when you stir it. Please take note that the combination is “water therapy, dry soil” or “no water therapy, damp or moist soil and no watering for 2 to 3 weeks”. A combination of “water therapy and planting them in damp soil” is deadly for succulents. So please be extra careful with making sure that the soil is dry if you choose option 2. I had to keep stirring my soil mix every 2 to 6 hours under the sun for a whole week to make sure that it is dry before I repotted my Lithops. 😃 It was a long wait, but it paid off. As for acclimatization, I would suggest that you keep them indoors, by a window first. Since it’s kinda warm where you are at, 1 hour of morning sun would be okay, but still be on the lookout for sunburn. It’s not a killer but it could leave scars. A south-facing window would be good, too, if you wont be around all the time to keep checking if they are getting too much sun or not. Try not to keep moving them around, too while they are getting used to your environment. I still make sure that my succulents get filtered sun when they are outside. I hope this helps. Sorry for the really long reply. I really get excited hearing about people getting new succulents. 🤣😆 Love, love, love them. Thank you for asking your question. Feel free to ask questions. I’m more than happy to help. ❤️🙏🌈

    Hi, Kalesia! You can certainly repot a succulent in bloom. Just remember not to remove all the old soil around the root area. 😃 Remember that after repotting, plants tend to look a bit sad, especially in new soil. It takes time for them to recover from the stress of repotting. If you can wait for it to be done with its bloom, it is better to do so. 😃
