Substitute Teacher Allegedly Raped 11-Year-Old Boy Repeatedly: Prosecutors

Ойын-сауық

Alley Bardfield, 32, faces charges of criminal sexual assault of a child after a boy spent the night at her home. The 6th grader told his mother about the alleged assault and took part in a sting operation over the phone to get his substitute teacher to admit to her alleged crimes. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber breaks down the horrific criminal complaint with attorney John Clune.

I remember when these first started coming out, there would be a whole lot of "that poor woman" crap, with people assuming the adult female must have been horribly abused to have this happen to her. That made me so angry reading that junk, but now as many of us have known all along, it never was rare, it just was looked at as being not so bad because it was boys.

When I was in third grade, I overheard a casual conversation between adults and learned that our landlords were letting their daughter who was in 6th grade spend the night at her male teacher's house on multiple occasions. They were saying how the daughter just loved him and he was her favorite teacher. Even as an eight year old I got a really bad feeling about it. I'll never forget that feeling that there was something urgently wrong and when I told my mom, she brushed it off and didn't seem concerned at all. It was the late 70's and a different time but come on...I always wondered about what was really going on.

When I was in 6th grade I called my teacher’s assistant’s home landline because her daughter went to the same school and my friends found the directory. We called to say hi to her and she told us not to call back then abruptly hung up. We were so confused. Going to school the next day, the teacher’s assistant walked up to me and said it wasn’t appropriate for students and teachers to talk outside of school and to never call back, but if I ever needed to talk with her I could do it at school with other grown ups in the room. At the time I was a bit offended. As an adult, I am so proud of the adults that I grew up around. Disgusted with the adults like this monster and others who hurt our kids.

The teacher has kids who also go to the same school, it was a sleepover with the teachers kids, and anyone who would trust another parent to host a sleepover would trust a teacher to do the same even more. Unless the boy was actually friends with the teachers kids, teacher/kid were family friends, or the teacher had been asked to babysit, seems like having the kid over in itself is a huge red flag.

The Mother thought he was spending the night with her boys who are around the same age. Kids have sleep overs all the time. I don’t let my daughter to sleep with others unless it’s a group party. But she has somebody here every single weekend and sometimes during the week. She is a straight A student so we do not mind sleeping overs during the week. But we would never let her go to her people’s homes. None of her friends parents even bother to call me except for one.

As someone who is a survivor as well as someone who formerly worked at schools and in kid centric jobs for about 15 yrs, I am so deeply appalled at this disgustingly disturbing trend lately. I am so sick just thinking about those poor precious babies in that horrific, unnecessarily traumatizing situation. It is a *GIFT* to work with and help shape young minds, and sincerely, how dare these people betray not only the victims and their community, but their fellow humankind in general. That poor baby, I'm just so sick over this.

Luckily you don’t decide what’s normal, that’s too subjective. People in small close knit towns, who have kids that are friends with the teachers kids in the same school, and trust authority figures who are also regulated, don’t find it abnormal at all. Predatory people are well known for being able to gain peoples trust and hide their true nature from everyone else

All these kids that grow up thinking it's "cool" or "not cool" to have been with their teacher intimately... either way it is going to affect their mentality and their relationships in the future. This kid was even being paid, given gifts, etc., at ELEVEN! It's extremely unfortunate because many parents usually feel extremely safe leaving their child with a female teacher for whatever reason, babysitting, chaperoning, supervising outdoor activities, or just seeing them out in public and having a chat. It's sad to think that so, so, so, many vile disgusting women take advantage of young children like this.
