Sometimes I wish they added some sort of max dive depth for the player outside of a vehicle and multiple different diving suits. Would definitely make things more interesting. Also vehicle-mounted scanners. For instance, let’s say the max dive depth without a vehicle or any special suits is 100-300 meters. But with a depth 1 suit, you get 500, Depth 2 700, and depth 3 1000. But you still need to use a vehicle to go any deeper than that, meaning you will take damage fairly quickly outside of a vehicle passed your max dive depth. Realistically, a human can actually dive 35.5 kilometers deep before breaking bones, which is 3x the deepest part of the world. That being said, you can only go about 20 meters before receiving tissue damage from decompression if you went back up. Despite this, I think dive suits and maximum unaided dive cap would be a fun addition, maybe just for harder difficulties

Back in the day, there wasn't any teleportation, you could fall down dozens of kilometers, the void had a bottom in some places at around 3000m with a very creepy landscape, they removed it for some reason

@@JamesGriffinT Nope, its not a coincidence. If we just roughly take a integer to measure things in the game we would have a limit of 2⁶³ meters for a 64bits compiled game. 63 bits to use as number and 1 bit to use as signal (positive and negative numbers). But the game seens to not use the entire integer for this. Maybe its limited by something else that uses a 16bit number and the game dev just clamped the limits to 2¹³, something like "Wow! The rendering stopped working at 2¹⁴ meters and now i can just see the skybox. Maybe i should put the limits at 2¹³ just for safety". We usually clamp things like this when strange things happens on the out of bounds area. Remember that a game engine is composed by several components(physics engine, rendering, logic engine...) and they have different limitations. Examples of those artifacts are the farlands in Minecraft and how the physics works when you go to parallel universes on Mario64.

For anyone wanting to do this themselves there is a better way, all you need to do is hold the repair tool open your pda then quickly and I mean lightning fast close the pda and enter the prawn suit. Then u can use the repair tool inside the prawn.

@@shadydaemon4178 As an indie game dev (And even tho Subnautica's creators are a whole team, not just one gal, it still applies to them) you guys underestimate the amount of work needed to bring such a game to life. Why not fill it? Because it would take another decade and an additional budget with several 0s. Once a game is out and fully fixed (or at least, as polished as possible) it's usually modding communities who keep adding stuff, which is the case for Subnautica. Alas, even modding takes a LOT of time and modders usually work on their projects for free...

Dang it's scary as F.. staring into the abyss while you are literally inside the abyss underwater with darkness and limited oxygen..

Pushing a rock to the edge of the map with a Cyclops, that is dedication! My hat off to you Sir!

The thing with teleportation is that you get teleported 100 meters in any direction from 0,0 coordinates. So that's why you and your crab got teleported away from each other. Also the distance to from the capsule to the edges will be longer in some places, as the capsule is never on the 0,0.

there are 2 ways I know of that are possible to do this, the easiest one is repair tool glitch Prawn Suit, other one is keep an abundance of Ion power cells on you and in the cyclops storage and just use the shield generator the whole way down, although i am surprised you made it all the way down by repairing the prawn outside of it so, kudos I guess, I also liked your idea with the floaters, I personally would've experimented with other objects, ones that are larger and flatter but nice job overall

Yes, my mistake. The fact is that in my native localization, the costume is called "К.Р.А.Б", and this word in English is more accurately translated as Crab. I wrote the way I was used to. But I should clarify how it is correctly called in the English version... Thank you for the correction.

8191m, including 0m that makes it 8192 values, then gets cycled back to 0. This is a strange limit cuz its 1/8th of a 16 bit float (most common) what are they using for the remaining 57344 values? Unless the game keeps track of depth in 0.125m fractions but only displays every 8th one.

Doing this in the prawn suit on *accident* will make you quite the game forever

Exactly what happened to me, I was in the lava zone close to beating the game and getting to the emperor when my prawn suit went through the ground, that was the last time I played.

I sunk down to around 7000m with the Prawn Suit before it imploded then swam down with the Seaglide to just beyond 8000m hoping to find the bottom but ended up back at my base. It was an interesting, if illogical, journey.

There's a place at between 7000-8000 meters, i don't know what they really are but i think they are a parts of map blocks (rocky Squares) i couldn't see the full picture of their terrain but they are there somewhere

I had to do this when I clipped through the floor in the Emporers chamber luckily I had heard about this trick before it happened to me

I'd like the idea of you falling and if you look infront of you past 8000 meters you'll see two gargantuan eyes staring at you before you get eaten. And when i mean massive I mean MASSIVE, im talking about their eyes being the size of icebergs but the creatures eyes are like crabs meaning that it is much MUCH bigger. And hell you wouldn't know you've been eaten until you hit the bottom of the throat and splash into the stomach, slowly dieing.

Before teleportation was a thing in the dead zone I tried this myself in creative and was able to fall around two hundred thousand metres before stopping

Nobody is probably going to know this but this reminds me of a glitch in a vr game called echo vr. you could bug out of the lobby and go down into darkness forever. couldnt even see your own hands.

it’s 8192 i believe. it’s 2^13. I can’t remember why but i’m pretty sure it’s just how the game handles height in bits.

So the camera keeps diving? I wonder what would happen if you somehow construct a sensir room close to the limit and send the camera down xD

Раз уж я увидел русскую речь, то может сможете подказать, как решить проблему с одинаковыми номерами у дрон-камер? У вас я увидел то же самое - несколько камер с одним номером, поэтому при управлении из любой комнаты сканирования под контроль берётся более ранняя.

Есть такая проблема, но не нашел способа бороться с этим. Кроме одного: снести все комнаты сканирования, и затем построить их заново. В таком случае путаницы в номерах не будет. Но в КПК порядок камер все равно может быть перепутан.
