For me it was the antilope like creatures that really made me sit up, I love the idea of the dichotomy of a land animal residing in the ocean but still keeping a close kind of movement and locomotion it's so weird but in a great way

Let me give a hot take there i think this is the male version of the Sea Emperror Leviathan. We know that Sea Emperror is telepathic. And the Sea Emperror we met was the female, so there somewhere must have been a male. (I know in the game it said the Sea Emperror Leviathan we met is the last Adult of its kind but what if that wasnt actualy true or maybe there was some other Egg out there that hatched a while ago)

@@the_mastermage I find that incredibly unlikely. First off this mf is WAAAY bigger and doesn't look anything like the Sea Emperor. And it wasn't telepathy. They didn't talk to the player, they messed with the AI voice. Like a Mesmer would, which isn't really the same as Empy.

@@gettotheGatemy problem with below zero was that it was too linear, I liked the first game because the character was pretty much nameless and faceless unless you do some real digging, it wasn’t really supposed to matter, it made it much easier for me to put myself in my characters shoes with no voice or identity of his own. Not to mention the fact that I don’t just get the builder tool is pretty annoying and I quit playing because it just wasn’t anywhere even when I checked locations suggested online multiple times. Plus with the recent addition of below zero buildings being added to regular Subnautica I just don’t have a reason to play it.

​@@mclovin2408well the below zero is a different take than the original. While BZ is relatively smaller map, its more story driven. Maybe it feels linear because the motive (find out what happen to your sister) is established in the early game? In the original however, it feels more open ended because we're not sure what we were supposed to do. The missions revealed themselves in multiple stages as you explore further and go deeper. That, combines with larger map and more biom means bigger ship and longer playtime. Judging from the Trailer, I think we are back to the nameless character again. I wish it's an add on pack to the original rather than a completely new gameplay.

The editing, animation, sounds, models, EVERYTHING in this is so good!!! I’ve dreamed about a Subnautica game like this before, I really hope this project takes off!

This looks like it could be official DLC sort of like what Dying Light: The Following was. The idea that we are nowhere near finished with the map, that everything on the main crater was just a tutorial for the abyss is such a great concept and this is much more than just a concept. This is some leviathan class stuff.

This was very beautifully animated! From what it sounds like, this mod is going to be a major improvement then what Socknautica was.

Yeah socknautica was probably one of the worst mods I had ever seen It completely ruins the nature of the game Terrible models (most likely rushed but still) The whole thing feels like a total disservice to the game and its core themes and appeal so all in all yes a thousand times better than the garbage that is socknautica

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I'VE BEEN THINKING FOR A SUBNAUTICA GAME THIS WHOLE TIME. Exploring the void seems so terrifying and fun at the same time, feels bad that we don't have a chance to do this in the base game.

This is truly an amazing idea and what a fantastic trailer! The models look great, super high quality and truly fantastic concepts! I hope to see this project go far and I’ll definitely be supporting it every step of the way!

This NEEDS to be a thing! Also, Unknown Worlds would have everything to gain by officially supporting this project.

This is so cool! Imagine "Call of the Void" + "Return of the Ancient" in the same time Is the mod already avaiable?

My prediction for this project is that those pinkish crystals will be the main source of conflict, probably like a plague. I think this because of the peeper seemingly infused with it and the large amount of it by the precursor base. The tentacle/plant things will most likely be an environmental enemy, like the adult ghost leviathans in the base game, but stationary. The giant worm-like leviathan I believe will be a secondary antagonist after the crystal things, and will periodically attack your new sub. We as the player will have to search for a cure for this crystal disease and will search for a precursor facility that hopefully found a cure before being wiped out. Do take this with a shaker full of salt as this is simply me theorizing and having fun, and thank you for reading this ENTIRE thing

Seems kinda uncreative if the objective of the first game is “cure this disease” and the second one is also “cure this disease” The worm-like leviathan is not going to be the main antagonist. It’s a giant leech. That means it primarily gets food from something even larger…

My guess, is it could be something related to altera. For instance, the auroras main mission was to establish a phase gate on the farthest reachable plane of space. But, what if…. That actually wasn’t the case. The thing about military-esque operations like that is, a lot of the times there’s usually some ultra top secret shenanigans going on behind the scenes. Since the aurora crashed so close to the craters edge combined with the dark matter drives exploding, the focus of that top secret mission was blown into the void. So they then send in an expert on planet 4546B… Riley, to explore the void in order to recover what was lost, but finds out there is something wrong with the alien tech down there, like a leviathan crashed into a facility that if left alone would destroy the solar system. (and before you say anything, there was a scannable item in the enforcement platform the size of a football (American) that said if it detonated it could wipe out the solar system)

you know a game is special when even years after its release the community is still building large-scale mods like this. Super exciting!

Loved the soundtrack. Magnificent work!

The fact that so many of these things are either game ready or fully modeled (like the worm and sea treaders) is just amazing, you would think this would take well over 2 years to make, but you managed to make such a detailed trailer in 2 years anyways!

Very nice. My only nit-pick is that subs use sonar not radar. Radar would boil the water near the emitter, and the bubbles would produce false reading's.

the thing that really makes this feel official is the peeper subspecies. you have one in the base game in the form of the oculus, and then one in below zero with the arctic peeper.

That submarine design was always my favorite of the scrapped designs. I doubt this mod will but I really really want someone to make a mod added the single cell biome from the scrapped biome concepts

That's actually the inspiration behind the tentacles! We couldn't get the look of the tendrils right, so we decided to go for tentacles instead, but if we can find a way to get the look right we'd definitely go for the authentic visuals! ^^

No matter how many game are made, none of them will compare to the first. It’s just it was so perfect it was creepy peaceful Fun , and the mid graphics just made it more creepy (in a funny way) I loved how scared everyone would get when they heard The reapers roar I loved it when I first discovered the lava zone the lost river and the underwater islands it was just perfect In every way possible.

I've got 500+ hours in Subnautica, and I would have 2000+ if it was co-op. My wife and I play together every single night and some days (both retired), and Subnautica is one of the best games ever created. Having the ability to share that experience with my wife would make all the difference in the sea to us. I know co-op is difficult, but it sells games. Fingers crossed!
