One thing I love about Changge Xing is that it's not just about love and romantic relationships but contains elements of an epic. In my opinion, Wu Lei is never a substitute. He was destined to play Ashina Sun and he has proved it. ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 Even these days I still go back to watch Changge Xing from time to time... never get bored. ❤❤❤

I actually watched LLTG first and, unfortunately, I really hated the relationship between the two lead characters and couldn't bring myself to enjoy the series as much as I was hoping I would. It was just such a negative, punishing, and one-sided relationship to me. Shao Shang was too self-centered, in love with herself(and the empress), and unreasonable. I tolerated her in the first part of the series, hoping she would grow and better herself. Disappointing. She was just _way_ too difficult and frustrating of a person to deal with...and she was like that until the very last few minutes of the series. Couldn't stomach her character.

Wulei did a great job as A’Sun. I love all his action scenes, he looks very cool, and his romantic scenes with Reba, are also very compelling. He did the heavy lifting i think in making us believe their love story. Also funny when he mentioned how afraid of insects Reba is.

@@Rain26128 At the begining of the story i was thinking like you, then a fan made a coment that help me to change my perception. Changee has lost his family, the death of her parents marked her life, she has a great suffering, i cant imagine to lose my parents the same day. So She has only one target on her life, revenge. When you are focus in revenge you dont have a place in your heart for love, or for pity or other feelings. So she needs time to realise that revenge its no the solution, that her people and their suffering are more important, that peace its the right way to do the things. Also she is wrong about the cause of the death of her mother, and only with time and the support of A Sun and with all the things she has to go trough she can forgive. For me her character is incredible because she is changing along the story goes, that is why a love this drama so much, the plot is not only a romance story it is about revange and forgiven, love and hate, war and peace, and how a person can change little by little until feel love. Only when she starts to forgive is when she is ready to open her heart to love. I think this is the same in real life, if you dont forgive your heart never will be ready to love and to see the good things around you.

BA Changge was potrayed by Reba perfectly! Changge just lost the whole family! She was not sensitive to what Asun felt for her because she was focusing on her goal, to revenge and kill Lashimin. So it is understandable that for her every attention from Asun responded pasively in the beginning until she almost lose Asun when he got shot and dying in bed. But her feeling actually already changed when Asun’s mother died. She felt guilty. But she realized she loves him when Asun confessed in front of her mother tablet, Asun said they both fall in love to each other in this journey. Overall, the love story between Asun and Changge to me was perfectly translated and well played in this drama. I love the way everything was done. Excellent drama!

I think we all understand why Chang’ge act the way she did, her reluctance to admit her feeling etc. But that also means that ASun has to be portrayed in a way that the audience can feel that depth of love and connection. And that’s my point in saying that Wulei/Asun has to do more on that his end. Reba is a very good and versatile actress, and she also portrayed her character perfectly.

Yes, he’s actions scenes were awesome! Especially the one wherein he had to fight the wolf tribe because his mother died. His face was so intense and the camera captured it.

I didn’t even know he’s only 21 when this was filmed. He’s a very good actor!

i dont think so he always matured ever since when it comes fighting scene.. the inn, magic star, fight breaks spheres and crossfire .. even romance scene he took it seriously he's eyes very expressive his really great .. people underestimate him for being young actor but he can be what ever he want to portray .. about kissing scene maybe he save it for a better future jacky chan successful in his carrer without kissing right? ..

@@lei9854 he's a serious actor and that's given as evidenced by his work but my point is that his role as an Ashile Sun made people realised that he can do mature roles very well and that he's matured and not a young boy anymore.Many perceived him as unsuitable for the role before because of his age and they had watched him grew up that's why.This role also made him known to wider audience especially internationally ,those who don't know him yet and that's a fact. As for kissing scenes that doesn't actually matter if you delivered a well executed/compelling storyline and that's what TLB did. Albeit their limited skinship lies a strong magnetic connection of the main characters whoever watches it can delved deeper into the characters' emotions .

@@fayemhariz434 im agree with you, i never watched a drama or a movie of Wu Lei before TLB so i didnt have perjuice about him. I didnt know him, and i must tell that i liked his performance so much that i started to watch adoring and crossfire, and i like him very much. I never being a fan of an actor before him, never followed an account neither Instagram, and now here im following him, because i really like him as an actor and also his personality, he has some kind of aura. Its true that in some scenes of TL B he seems young but i think that overall he is perfect. I can't imagen an other actor as A Sun, for me he always will be A Sun. The same for Changee, i can't imagen other actress doing this character.

This is only my 2nd Wu Lei drama and this made me hands down a fanatic 🤣.

Leo Wu must have waited long to get a script like this bec it seemed he does not follow a certain cutesy-idol-drama-actor formula in his career. He only takes serious roles, no cringey cliche' rom-com for him, so getting this role he must have waited long. Kudos to him though. He seemed to be one intelligent actor to think wisely on his career path and not take the easy way out. Not dissing idol actors in cliche romance dramas but sometimes quality does matter.👍❤️

Thanks for subs. I really like this interview because you can see how he has worked about the idea of his character, A Sun. He has impressed me very much about how deep are his thoughts and how well he knows how is A Sun, for example how he shows his love to Changee, no only by words, although by acts. In fact true love is more about acts than about words, words are easy to say, the acts means that you have put effort and sometimes when you do acts it means that you have put the one that you love first than you, and this is not easy, because you have to love very much to be so generous.

18 years acting experience made him more capable for the mature role i admire him for taking slowly in romantic scene since his young he knows what his best for him he really a smart other actors their priority is to have good romance in the drama while leo wu is doing a great job to portray a role he knows if for love story for youthful drama or action he always pick the best for the meaningful of the story the long ballad is not for the romantiic drama is for the country anyway .. i learn a lot thanks ..

Regarding Leo Wu or Wu Lei... I saw this actor in The Long Ballad a few weeks back for the first time and felt he was a bit too young, not handsome enough and a bit on the scrawny side to pull off such a strong character. Glad he proved me wrong as Ashile Sun is now one of my favourite characters! However, I disagree with the "demotion" part of his statement because it was Ashile Sun's personal choice. He wanted liberation and freedom plus the right to protect the ones he wanted to protect - not a title or to do it at the expense of risking his life every time or the ones he loved. That would have taken a lot of guts to do, also, on top of that he understood what it truly meant to be "benevolent" which others didn't get that were much older than him! It wasn't a demotion per say, but his courage to take control of his life and do what he most wanted to do. Sher in the end was no different in what he wanted either really. I have also mostly watched Love Like The Galaxy and am sorry to say I prefer Ashile Sun 1000% over Ling Buyi. I have tried liking Ling Buyi, but... As for The Long Ballad - the scene when he loses it over his mother's death is one of the best scenes I have ever watched!!! Leo Wu - Push yourself to the limit with the roles you take on and don't be afraid to take on challenges like you did with Ashile Sun. I thought at first you could be easily replaceable, but by the end of The Long Ballad I thought the absolute opposite.

I saw Leo in love like the galaxy and so I thought I’d give the long ballad a chance bc I adore dilireba. I’m pretty sure I fell in love with A Sun after the first episode. And I just kept going down the rabbit hole as I continued to watch the drama. Leo is an amazing actor. And his chemistry with Dilraba is undeniably captivating.

Love Wu Lei and Ashile Sun. A'Sun remains my most favorite Wu Lei character, and just my overall fav, in general. He's so likable and endearing in every sense, so it's very difficult to not fall for him. I think Wu Lei does a thorough job of studying his characters(he even studied A'Sun in the original manhua/comic!) so that he has a really good understanding of them. And his acting is also done extremely well with details(even in his posture, or just the way he walks) so it's easy to understand the kind of character he's playing. The things he said about Sun didn't surprise me at all because I was able to see all those different traits of his personality in the series. What LeiLei said about getting demoted though, I'm pretty sure he was just trying to be light-hearted and funny. It was what Sun wanted, clearly his choice, and Wu Lei said that too. Sun chose to prioritize protecting his loved ones over wars and victories. Another reason why I love TLB a lot is because I adore the mature, understanding, and healthy nature of Sun and Changge's relationship. Really enjoyed their relationship and chemistry, so hopefully the two can collaborate in other future projects ❤

I've people in the cast use both. Seems that Wulei normally refers to his character as Ashina Sun, but subtitles normally use the characters for Ashile. Officially, I believe it is supposed to be Ashile。

Sun's tribe is based on an actual historical, Turkic tribe called the Ashina Tribe. I believe "Ashina" was used in the original manhua. At least in the translations it was used that way. In the drama though, it looks like they used "Ashile". Not sure why the change but, because of this, it seems that either name would be accurate.
