What a coincidence: I'm currently fitting an EZ36 into a '77 911. I have come across a few EZ36 swaps but none into a Porsche yet.

06-07 B9 Tribeca still has the EZ30 3.0. EZ36 was the Tribeca 08+. Great video! Daughter still has my old 07 Tribeca I keep up to snuff.

It's a shame the EG33 was mated to such a garbage transmission from the factory because its seriously one of the most reliable engines of the whole EJ family, plus it makes the best noises. Solid video dude, I'll keep watching 👍

A friend of mine put the 2.7 litre six into a VW Beatle

I have a Legacy 3.6r and its one of the most unique and satisfying driving experiences of all time. I can take any turn and the car stay completely flat as if magnetized to the ground. I came from a 2016 WRX and at no point have I been disappointed by the 3.6r. Rare car to find now but if you can find it go for it. Only thing I can compare it to is my father’s 2008 BMW 5 series with XI awd. Buy it.

I’ve owned a 1st gen n/a Forester which was the car I fell in love with the Subie brand, then came an turbo ‘05 OBXT, and now I’d love to try an ‘08-‘09 H6 EZ30. Thanks for all this info! 👍🏻

great video! I would like a 6 cylinder boxer for the sound but I do have a 2000 B4 Blitzen, which has some design features from Porsche so close enough for now :)

I would love a video with more details on and about the flat 12 F1 engine and hopefully some sounds of it as well

i've got a ez30 in my outback. it sounded amazing with the gtb exhaust i installed (sounded super raspy and "gurgeled" a lot lol). it actually felt really sporty even with the 4 speed automatic. of course it was no sportscar by far (mostly because of the weight) but i think that if u put a supercharger on top it's a beast. my ideal (junkyard) setup would be a ez30r supercharged and swapped in a impreza with a manual and only rwd.

I've got the later EZ30 (the one with variable timing and lift) mated to a variant of the STI 6 speed. They go pretty good in manual.

They need to put the 6-cyl engine in more cars with a manual transmission.

I want to stick this one in a Karmann Ghia or Type 2 camper. Even a Renault Dauphine that looks stock, it looks like a straight restoration until you open the throttle. Talking of the Pleiades, the fool in King Lear mentioned them while calling Lear a fool: “The Reason why there are seven stars is a pretty reason.” Lear replies: “Because there are not eight”.

2001 Outback 3.0 VDC and im obsessed with it. The VDC cars get the true AWD from the WRX, despite being automatic

I have a Subaru Legacy from 2004 it’s the 3.0R version sedan in black automatic transmission and it has the EZ30 engine a six Zylinder boxer I love it and I will put a new fox exhaust to it also you got yourself a new subscriber I wanted to ask wich music did you use at the end it sounds uplifting and relaxing 😊❤

I have a legacy 3.6r from 2012 and I want to keep it for life. It takes any turn completely flat without any body sway. I’m coming from a wrx and I don’t miss it. The Legacy 3.6r is hard to find but if you do just buy it. It surprises me everyday.

Just sleeve the ez36 you don't even need to close deck it and it will take boost

This sure sounds like a cliché, but with the dedication and effort put into this video, you certainly deserve more subscribers.

In new zealand, they brought out a 3.6RS which was rated at 210kw and 390nm in 2019, came with carbon fibre intake and a variety of other sti goodies. Shame they didn't bring out a boosted version, although if they did, it would have taken away a lot of sales from the STI's.

@@joshbacon8241 oh 100% wouldn't be surprised at all. I read somewhere that a proto type model of the vortex XT-6 came with a supercharged non intercooled variant of the ER27, that was before EJ's were even conceptualised. Dare say they didn't release that due to the desire to push the EA82T models due to rallying.

I believe Porsche helped with the design of some of the ez30.

I was thinking of using these engines in a helicopter kit , requires at least 300 to 400 hp and 280 lbs weight

Still waiting for an 8 cylinder rear- engine Subaru BRZ with sequential twin turbos.

Subarus flat 6 is much better than porsche’s excuse me at least the Subaru runs at 30 miles an hour and It doesn’t sound like it’s gonna fall completely apart unlike every Porsche ever made 😂

The EZ30R is confirmed to have Porsche Vario Cam Subaru just call it AVCLS or what ever But it is infact Vario Cam If you pull apart the head even the hydraulic buckets have made in Germany on them and share Porsche part numbers.

No. Stop spreading those stupid rumours. EZ30 same as most of their other engines(except fa20/24 using toyotas d4s injecion system) is entirely their own design. They never worked with porsche and it has nothing to do with their engines either. They just done a similar variable valve timing system indeptendently. Its like saying Toyota borrowed vtec from honda for their vvtli system in celica 2zz engine.

@@Kacpa2 you're very mistaken. If you pull apart the head of a EZ30R. Why does the valve train look identical to Porsche Vario Cam and share the same parts and part numbers..... You pull the parts out and they literally say made in Germany and share identical part numbers... There's physical proof all through the Heads....

The two ugly cars the prototype looks like a Porsche Panamerica and the Ugly SUV? Looks very very like the Porsche SUV. U can see it in certain wheels and in motor design and in the body design of certain Subarus and it’s obvious they have worked with Porsche over the years
