I have the same question. I have a 2019 base model with no roof rails or racks. The different anchor points are a pain so far.

Would a 5th gen base model forester require drilling? They have appear to have different anchor points than other models that come with stock rails.

Does disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery drop all your set settings or does it keep them?

It drops the seatbelt warning override setting. I'm not sure about anything else.

Do you guys have a pdf I can download for instructions. I'm planning on putting my rack on this weekend

This one took a full workday just because we were filming it. But it’s probably somewhere close to 4-5 hours because of the headliner drop

It’s definitely more steps than the usual prinsu rack. Let us know if you need a recommendation on an install shop!
