The algorithm PUNISHES variety channels like mine pretty hard, and I don't really do a lot of advertising or anything. I also don't beg for subs the way some channels do, and believe it or not over half the views on all my stuff are non-subs.

I like how this plane is just vastly superior than the Su-22, UM3K and Su-17M2 yet sits at the same BR.

It's a powercrept those others thats for sure. >260 flares vs 12 on SU22 vs 0 on M2, R60M vs R60 and it gets a TV missile. Makes absolutely no sense. This can and should be 11.0 but those lesser models should be 10.7 and 10.3 pretty much. Even the german one is superior to SU22 or M2, although that is worse than this M4.

@@TheVoitokas in real life the Su-22M3 has as much flares as Um3k I'm not sure if it had as much as the Su-17M4 but it definitely had more than 12

Thoroughly enjoyed all your Su-17 videos. It's my favourite strike fighter from the cold war era. Unfortunately it did not get a lot of recognition in real life.

Funny you mention that, the shape of the Kh-29 actually WAS based on scaling up the fuselage design of the R-60 missile.

I agree with you on the camos, I just can't really get behind any of them. It's probably asking way too much of Gaijin, but I really wish each plane had a completely plain (with national markings) skin for some of its historical camo patterns. No decoration like shark teeth, no unit identification, etc. Most props have this, but a lot of jets are painted and marked as if they're a specific individual, and it's always a tiny bit jarring to see half a dozen of them on the same battlefield.

@@DrSabot-A At least the Italian one is blank and leaves room for the 51 Stormo decal on the tail. Sadly, their F-84F is just two different specific squadron skins.

I’m always jealous of how other people can hover over the battlefield and be completely fine, but when I spawn in a plane I get deleted by an SPAA before I even reach the battle lol

For every successful CAS sortie I get, I end up swatted out before taking a single shot at least twice. The 2-to-1 ratio seems fairly consistent for me above BR 9.0 or so.

how easy/hard wingsweep is to control will always depend of your keybinds, mine are easily accessible and i never find it difficult to change wingsweep infact, i run on manual most of the time. the radar is also pretty usefull as now radar rangefinders can slave missiles, so the radar on the Su-17M4 can be used as a quasi high off-boresight HMS and help you to get a lock without the nose being right on the enemy, or help you maintain a lock if the enemy spams flares.

As usual ! A great job done here. I can't agree more with you on this plane. I really love it.

I still lean toward the MiG-27K. The zoom is such a tremendous help with lining up targets to kill with the Kh-25's and using the 30mm cannon after a kill with a missile. Also just being able to kill someone while your 20kft in the air at mach 1.0+ is just so satisfying.

Su22M4(Russia): (11.0 BR) Gets 6 all aspect R60m Gets access to the KH29T(best AGM in the game) Gets 256 Countermeasures Gets 2 30mm Cannons built in, with an optional addition of 4 extra 23mm gun pods. Can carry a total of 8 500kg bombs(enough to destroy 2 bases at top tier) Su22UM3k(11.0 BR) (Germany(suffers)) Gets 4 all aspect R60m Only Gets access to the KH29L with its terrible UI and lack of zoom. Gets 128 countermeasures Has only 1 30mm cannon built in, and can only take 2 extra 23mm gun pods. Can carry a total of 6 500kg bombs, enough to destroy 1.5 bases worth. How is this thing at the SAME BR?? this is Russian favoritism if I've ever seen it.

Its even funnier when you realize that the su22um3k is Germany's ONLY strike fighter in the entire 11.0-9.0 bracket, while Russia has the 2 mig27 varients(arguably better than the UM3k), the Su22m3/Su17m2, and now the Su17m4.

Still though the german one is better than either M2 or M3 in ussr tree, because at least it has flares and all aspect which both (M2 and M3) ussr models lack. All Su17 have the same br for some reason even though these get better each iteration M2

Insane that M2 and M4 share the same BR. :-) I just have M3 and UM3K and use just R-60 and the 500 kg bombs because the bad interface make the laser guided stuff almost useless for me.

Su-22 is the export model, we have Su17M2 M3 & M4 as the best model, the next logical step would be a Su-24 or Su-25. While i personally favor the Su-24 it looks a little bit like a longer Su17 and also got swept wings but comes with a ton of new armament options such as anti ship missiles Kh-59 obviously they are deadly against tanks aswell, and very large bombs up to 1500KG

@@majo3488 Well yeah i think the first one could easily be 10.3 put the 22 on 10.7 and the m4 is fine where it is. Well the M2 used to be on 10.3 upon introduction.

Something to note is that you can use the TV screen on the 29Ts with the manual 23Ms to guide them with quite amazing accuracy. So if you want even more kills than you're already getting in this, take them both out and snipe people with those manual missiles.

This is the best thing I ever saw.

M2 and M4 at the same br is quite uncanny xd ik it's a result of the 6 r60 spam back in the day but still anyone can see what's wrong with the brs, m2 could be atleast 10.3 since the mig21 with 4 is around that br as well

I'd still use the MiG-27K over the su17.

MiG-27k is definitely better but hitting tanks with unguided rockets give me the big dopamine hit. With the Kh-29T, you can snipe spaa from spawn and then have some fun with your rockets for a short time before spaa spawn back up.

do you think you could a review on the f100 its a very underperforming plane and i dont hear much about it anymore

Essentially. I'm still baffled that they added the 2 seat trainer Su-22UM3K to Germany (has a lighter warload and less guns) instead of waiting for the Su-22M4. East Germany only ever operated 4 of the Su-22UM3K.

@@TimsVariety Im currently researching the mld so i haven’t played it yet, the su25 was nice until now cause it gave that premium buff but it doesn’t count for the su27 so Idk since it’s kinda slow too. And about the su17, doesn’t seem that bad but i will have to spade it

Damn they gave the m4 256 flares but the m3 still only has 12 and doesn’t even get custom load outs like the other su17s
