Please don't paint the piano. As you said, there's just no going back from that. If anything maybe paint the wall behind it or make that an accent wall with wallpaper or another fun technique. But let the true history of the piano be as it is and speak for itself. Just my humble opinion.

I have been playing since I was 5 and my mom painted our piano when I was young and it was a pain and it never, ever looked good. Ours was a antique massive upright tho. She still talks about it and how it kinda ruined it. I would suggest painting the wall behind it. But that’s just me, you gotta do you. 😉

I'm enjoying your aesthetic. You can just offset the wood of the piano with decoration as you partially have done or you can paint it. Changing things up and around is fine.

I love your “We’re Going On a Bear Hunt” pictures! That’s such a good idea, and a wonderful way to repurpose a beloved book which has seen better days. I, too, have fond memories of my mother reading that book (same addition - it’s the best) and/or sing-songing the story with my brother and me as babies. It must be such fun now to share the same story with your babies!

You definitely have a nice style! You make it seam all unique peaces with a big story, but still playful and cosy. I like the mix of colours, but also some free places to breath and chill your eyes of impressions.
