I’m a firm believer in appreciating exactly what we have when we have it. That means loving the crisp autumn days when they’re here, as well as the long, hot summer days when they come around. That means appreciating the older child in front of me, rather than longing for her baby days or trying to push her into her teenage years. That means embracing the age I am, rather than looking forward or backward. That means appreciating where I live, rather than pining to live somewhere else. To everything there is a season. I think life is better when we pause to be present with each season as it comes.

Thanks for admitting you were grumpy. Apple picking looks like a lot of fun regardless of your mood. We went to a pumpkin farm last year. My son was miserable, but we still tried to have a good time. He was 2, so I think it was just from being over stimulated. He still talks about visiting the pumpkin farm regardless of mood, so kids just remember the good parts. 🙂 The carrot cake looks great! I will try it out.

Not sure what the snow situation is like in Idaho, but I live in Oregon and after the holidays I always prioritize snowshoeing to help me enjoy the winter season! It’s beautiful and an easy way to still get outside. This year will be the first year I’ll have a baby in tow!
