I’m gonna start a GoFundMe so Dixon can get a bike fit and narrow handlebars 😅 But great race

The knees out cadence though, very ungainly

i agree, she is strong AF but she has the some of the worst form/bikefit I’ve ever seen. She would have won that with the correct set up.

OMG I thought the same thing! Very awkward pedaling cadence as well. Not knowing the outcome I kept wondering how did she manage to get off the front in the first place?

Maybe dixon needs to work on her aero/position. Not being rude or anything but she doesn't look smooth on her bike. Losing watts all over the place. Great finish.

So painful. Such grit. Man, so, SO close! Wow, lots of armchair quarterbacks in the comments section. "Yeah, her bike fit's horrible. Saddle's too high. Poor form. Bars too wide! Turned here head too many times! Sprinting on the hoods!" You name it, she's a total mess! All excellent analysis from the peanut gallery. She looks "horrible" because she's been going at max for six laps. IN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. How many commenters have found themselves in this situation? I'm guessing exactly ZERO. (I, however, HAVE found myself in the National Championship criterium, so there's that.) If she hadn't made these "horrible mistakes," there's still the chance that the EF rider would have stayed in her leadout a bit longer and still gotten her at he line. Or, had Dixon been "better on the bike" and faster, the peloton may have put in more effort to catch her at the same time. You cannot draw conclusions on ONE variable change and not expect other variables to not change at the same time. So glad all the world's pro coaches, fitters and former rainbow jersey winners are here to criticize an amazing effort.

Exactly. Being off the front alone for that long versus riding in the pack is exhausting. Dixon left nothing on the table.

  • @Xhadp

Wow that was crazy seeing how big that gap grew and shrunk within the lap. However, if you are a pro cyclist on a course there is one pet peeve of mine, STOP TURNING YOUR HEAD! You are putting yourself at a massive aerodynamic disadvantage by doing that. Given the difference at the line that could have made all the difference.

The lady riding solo has a horrible position on the bike for a pro rider. Way to much hip movement. There's probably 20 Watts to be won there...
