They thoroughly deserve every penny, especially when compared to the insane wages in association football and other big tv sports. These pro riders are living like monks; their focus and the constant hardship they go through. True heroes and endlessly inspirational.

Absolutely true. They work the hardest among professional athletes or sportsmen of any discipline. For examples, the top F1 drivers probably receive more than 20 million, basketball, baseball or football players all more than that.

Cyclings answer to footballs universally beloved "one club players". Which is admirable in a way. What is even more admirable is that he seems to be forever motivated and does not need a change of air to inspire him. I think that is something to take note of, and it makes him even more special.

A video on the economics of teams would be interesting. I didn't realize top riders made that much. Seems that there's an enormous difference of pay within teams. I have no idea what the brands behind teams sell. Do they get business from that visibility, or is it just vanity? Do teams pay for bikes? Does such high pay correlate with such high bike prices?

Relax there is no big money for wages in cycling. In reality the riders actually deserve to be paid more. Only a few select riders get multi-million contracts. The majority of Domestique riders are paid very little.

He won the tour of flanders, twice tour of france, wins liege-bastogne-liege, lombardia, wins time trials, has a sprint if he wants, won strade bianche, i even see him win Paris-roubaix one day. Vingegaard will never achieve that kind of level. Calling him a one trick pony is a bit condescending though, agreed.
