To me the upcoming tour of france race will be absolutely epic and legendary. With Tadej and Remco and Primoz and hopefully Jonas fully recovered 100%! Last year Tadej crashed and hurt his hand and i dont think he was fully 100% and still fought and attacked Jonas. Anyways yea this years tour of france will be one of the best ever. Cant wait! Rooting for Tadej to get Revenge!

Well..he beat by a huge margin a group of formidable opponents like young Geraint and Nairo-superstars at the top of their powers as well as the mighty Alaphilippe who hasn’t lost a single race recently so he SURELY must have doped, ain’t that right?

thank you for sharing this, I'm just new following the sport. I'm sure the riders wont take home this earnings alone, I wonder how teams manages this etc. Anyways, i think its for another video^^ Really appreciate this info, as most videos now just talks about the entire race, Pogi's performances and analysis. Till next video then

TDF is the most watched sporting event in the world but riders are paid the least in comparison with any sport. I mean golfers earn millions for 4 day events. Surely this sport needs to get some more love, in fact a whole lot more love.

Amazing. That tremendous amount of prize money can be affected by his base and sponsors. He belongs to the UAE-based team whose sponsor is an Emirati airline. Oil money could be fed to him for his victory and big income after the end of the Giro! I would like to congratulate to him.

As I understand race prize money is more like bonus. Riders “annual salary” would be based on their contract with the team which is paid regardless of performance… for Pogi prob something like £4-million a year. Still super low for the best in the world.

As I understand it, the prize money goes t the team, and the individual contracts decide who gets how much as a fixed salary and how the prize money is split. For the top stars the main income will probably be from sponsoring deals on top of that.

Last year he wasnt in perfect form as you know. He crashes hard at Liege-Bastogne-Liege and his preparation for the TdF wasnt very good. This year Vingegaard had a even harder crash, normally we should also see the difference at the TdF. With the other Favorites Evanepoel and Roglic (maybe with his last chance) we can hope for a epic TdF :) Pogacar has dominated the Giro like no other in modern cycling before, lets see if he can do it again. His Team will be even stronger (Adam Yates, Joao Almeida, Juan Ayuso, Marc Soler, Tim Wellens, Nils Politt, Sivakov)!

The teams don't make the money via prices from the races but from sponsors. This is contrary to many other team sports. For the amount of viewers they are reasonably well financed.

Are we expected to believe that clean riders can go faster than ever, every day and never tire or get worn down???? Human anatomy doesn’t allow this. Ok, incremental gains are a thing, and will allow modest increases in speed, but what has that got to do with NEVER TIRING no matter that you push to the limit everyday???. Improved nutrition is a BS explanation as many of the Italian teams have always eaten super clean and yet their riders would eventually tire.
