Yates is looking in extraordinary shape. Barely losing time to Almeida, is way over his normal performance. Can't give him any levee in the TdF.

@@Bozza36 Well, that. But I do think after the Suisse performance it will be Pogi on top step then Yates second at the Tour de France. Sorry for confusion. I really would love for Primoz to win though, I just don’t think it’s going to happen.

Pog should be untouchable at this year's TdF with Yates, Ayuso and Almeida working together as his super domestiques.

They're having a pretty good year so far, definitely going to have a great supporting cast for Pogi to try and pull the double. I am really looking forward to the start of Le Tour.

The time trial does not deceive. It's loneliness in a team sport. It is the cyclist against the wind, without help of any kind. Just him and his bike. There is nowhere to hide. There is no equipment to hold on to. Not even the most cowardly of runners can avoid having to show their face that day. They are disappearing because it shows the true level of many cyclists. Today was a time trial of 15.7 km that is not binding with the 59 km that will be in the two time trials of the Tour. 25 + 34. The first in Nuits-Saint-Georges>Gevrey-Chambertin. The second between Monaco > Nice. (The legendary Fignon-LeMond time trial in '89) I don't know why they change bikes if riders like Domoulin climbed Planches de Belle Filles with the same bike. The only rider who competed against the UAE, Skjelmose, will not even participate in the Gala round according to his schedule. There are no "aliens" modern cyclists are successful if they do well in the time trial and in the mountains, there are no secrets. Longer times are needed as there are many mountains and very little happens. Excellent young American Matthew Riccitello. Pura vida!

They started on TT bikes because the initial part of the race was more suited to that bike. Then when the road started to get steeper they switched to a road bike because they are a bit lighter than the TT bike and therefore faster as well.

@@orangeorphan thanks, I thought cheating was going on. But actually makes sense tactics wise to use the best bike for each stage of a race.
