One thing I've noticed with the Footprint 02 vs my old HS8's is that with a well-mixed pop or rock tune, the singer sounds 'enveloped' by the band on the Footprint, a bit off in the distance even, whereas the HS8's (like most stereos and car speakers) flatten everything, with the singer feeling pushed up to the front with everything else. It's different, I've never heard anything like it before.

I must confess that I have watched this video perhaps 10x. Yes. I was going to purchase the ALPHA 80's. The Barefoot 01's was my all time favorites. So No I won't get the Alpha's 80's. No. No way not after this video. lol Thanks so much for your video. $3,950.00 for a pair as of November 2021. Currently I've got a pair of BX5 from M-Audio. Seriously the BX5 just can't handle my recordings. I've got two KrK 10.4 subs generation 4. Love them. Yes Love them. ...and I am still purchasing BareFoot 01's. Much continued success with your musical journey!!!

Hi. Great video. Thank you so much. I love the footprints 01, they look so nice. Im not into production, but love good sound and punchy bass. I was thinking on buying 2 bookshelf speakers and a sub (kef ls55 wireless or something like that). I would prefer not to have a sub as I like to keep my living room as minimal as possible (it’s an industrial loft). Do you think these monitors will have a punchy bass for regular music listening?

Great review. "I can't plug these back in" (talking about the focals). LOL. Hilarious. Looks like the 02's might be even better for suited for your studio space size (and you could save $1k as well). However, I understand if you have to have the 01's. Just got a pair in my mastering studio...that low end is ridiculous. I definitely do not need a sub anymore.

Great video brother! I have Focal Alpha Evo 65 and I'd like to switch to Barefoot Footprint 01. My studio is not very big and I need 6,5/7 inch monitors. I'm a bit afraid that the Barefoots will be too big for my room. Is the diffrence so huge between 7 inch monitors and 01? Thanks in advance.

I got mine from kmr as a demo set, I had to give them back after a week. Back to my focals until stock becomes available 😒

niceei been thinking of getting these or the genelecs 8341a would get the 8351b but think my room would be a little small for that .. i was going to get them from kmr too .. and did you say 3500 there 3750 now i need to try get a discount lol this review was great i might have to get both now

What should you do about the SP-16? 8:21

So I was about to get a SP-16, partly because of your videos 😂, and replace my MPC Live with it, but now I'm not so sure lol. I'm just learning the ropes, should I keep with it, or go with the SP-16? Mainly jamming on it, not looking to actually produce

I had my heart set on the Barefoot Footprint 01's ...that was until I heard the Ex Machina Pulsars, but that's another story. So I was thinking those Footprints Kick out some SERIOUS BASS how does it sound close to the wall? Surely it must hit even harder and is that a good thing?

They were fine up against the wall tbh. I had to give them back tho as they were the demo set and there is no stock here in uk for a fair while

Did you end up getting the Pulsars? I was set on the 01's or Focal Trio6b until a mixing/mastering engineer friend recently said I should save up for the Pulsars. Not sure if its worth the extra 3k. Thats a pretty big jump up.

He is comparing the Focal Alpha 80 but that is such an UNFAIR comparison. Yes and he was right, "you get what you pay for" and the Alphas are the lowest cheap quality offered by Focal. Compare it to the focal twin6 Be or the Focal Trio 6 BE which I think they are amazing. I wish at least you could have owned the Focal Solo6 BE lol. I still dont know which one I will get that is why I am looking for a good apple to apple comparison video.

There are plenty of focal equivalent videos about for more of a serious comparison, this was purely about me being greedy and wanting a step up trying to convince myself I didn’t need them…..which backfired hahah

Whatever you do, avoid demoing BURL Audio AD/DA converters (Mothership, B2 Bomber, etc.), then. You'll feel the exact same way about that Apollo as you do the Focals. lol

No shit Sherlock, you are comparing monitors that have a huge price difference, try and comparing them to high end Focals and you will see. And honestly you seem to hyped for lower tier Barefoots, wait till you hear high end monitors you will soil your pants then 😂
