Hope all the doctors from this college will pass this generosity to their patients and the cycle will continue.
She made their life happy, made my day happy just watching them scream in joy, what a career life saver!
The amount of pressure that will be lifted from these students, both during their studies and afterwards, is immense.
I like how he knew something big was coming and turned the camera horizontal.
Why do I feel like I am one of those medical students for I too felt so happy and excited hearing the gift from Mrs. Ruth.
After googling, the university's tuition fee is about 200,000 for 4 years. That means her 1B donation can cover 5000 degrees. It's a lot, but it's not forever. Happy for the students

Your point is well taken. If they invest the $1 Billion in a fund and use the profits to cover tuition it might last a bit longer. And if graduates also give back to the school then it might sustain it further. :)

Happily; that’s incorrect; the money will be invested and properly managed and continue to grow, literally forever. Huge amounts of money properly invested will make a huge amount of money forever.

What a gift!! What a heart!! What a compassion!! What a great human being. We wish you all the best. Hope these young Drs will bring their bests to their communities one day.
Amazing. Amazing. Happy for all these people. May they return the favor to the community with their medical expertise.
What an incredible gift that will multiply by a thousand fold and beyond where/when these future doctors and scientists will contribute to mankind.
That made me cry.
It makes SOOOOO happy to see these smart and hardworking college students be in joy, especially knowing that someone does care about them and their future. My only hope is that when do become successful, that will carry the torch and do the same for other future college students. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Nothing is free. Someone somewhere is paying for it either with higher taxes or higher prices of goods.

Many other developed countries have fully subsidized education. But , they're tough to enter and stay there. Their doctors who enter the work.force don't have $200+K in debt..
Can you imagine how the trajectory of these people’s lives and thousands more to come will be changed by this one generous decision? Amazing! We need more of this from the ultra rich!!
Wow!
This is such an investment for the future. Best wishes to these young men and women.
Congratulates to turion free students.

This is a public health bonanza. Now people can pursue the less lucrative but equally necessary specialties.
I don’t think they ever saw that coming.
you can say they are waiting for it, like they heard it before was announced.
Ok, I better not see that $20 Co-pay on my next physical.
Thats the best: Studying Medicine in Europe for free - simulation lol
Would be possible for every Student in the US, but the system wants loans and credits.
I would be jumping for joy too if I had $200K in school debt.

Good for them. That was a great reaction. Usually, to get that many young adults to yell and cheer like that, Taylor Swift is involved somehow.

I imagine that by the time you become a billionaire, material possessions have long since lost their appeal to you. You can buy anything and everything, so nothing is really exciting anymore. But I can't imagine the feeling of being able to do this ever getting old.
That is it, I think I’m gonna transfer there. I heard it’s an AMAZING school. .😅
It is this great country and the ability of capitalism that enables people like this to make such generous donations! Link live the US financial system!
All those who get mommy and daddy to pay tuition are like..wtf
The students will pay heavily. The tuition will be taken out of their pay checks forever. The universities that overcharged them are making bank.
Pay it forward find those cures.

I have a feeling you're salty because that money didn't get somehow into the hands of your Mango Messiah. Call it a feeling.
Its not really free someone will pay for it, the usual suspect wuld be the tax payers. Not unless the faculty and whole school staff will work for free, but as long as they are receiving tgeir salaries ans school spend for maintenance? Someone is goin to pay for those expenses. The correct term is their tuition has been payed by the tax payers.

@artistaroundtheblock2047 so someone did pay for it, she paid for it thus my point! it not free because she needs to pay. People should stop abusing the word "Free" because someone somehow has to pay. She simply should have said you don't have to pay because i paid it for you. In this world we can only count things that's truly free, the air we breath is free but not when you're sick though.

So many people who are passionate in the medical field cannot pursue that career because of how high tuition is, so many potential doctors, physicians and nurses lost because of the money grab college is. And even for the people who pay tuition, they are stuck repaying loans even after retirement. This is something we should be striving for, if we want more people in these fields we need to make tuition more accessible for everyone. Whoever donated that 1B just changed the lives of an entire community.
