Every school my son went to from kindergarten to high school, he’s always become friends with a custodian. There were days I would go to pick him up if he was sick and I’d be walking him out from the nurses office and the custodian would see us and have to check on him. From the start he always made sure to include his friend on holidays. If we made class gifts/cards or teacher gifts, you better believe we had a gift for his custodian friend as well. Schools can’t function without them, it’s a vital job and they are often overlooked. I’m glad this guy got recognized and a lot of the comments are positive experiences from others.

Gives hope in, and thankfulness for, this young generation. And heartbreaking at the thought that this was the first time in TEN years in America that anyone had celebrated this kind, wonderful man's bd.

Thanks for giving me a beautiful reason to cry today. I cry everyday because of the horrible things people do to each other and I've cried enough this year to fill and overflow ten oceans and seas. This feels so amazing to just cry for the right reason today. May God bless me with more healing tears today and all the tomorrows and I pray he does the same for all the people he created on this planet!

That's wonderful of those students to have given their security guard tickets to fly to Nigeria to see his family. May every one of those guys be Blessed for their kindness.

No, it's not. Kids have always behaved like - wait for it - KIDS. The difference now is that kids' lives are now on social media or recorded for the world to see, which also means that - unlike in the past - the world can also see their mistakes. Also, these last few generations of (Millennials down to Gen Alpha) have/had it MUCH worse than kids who were raised in the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s (Boomers and Gen X). If you were a young adult during those decades, you didn't have to worry about being murdered in a mass shooting, your cost of living was WAY lower, your education was MUCH cheaper, you made more money relative to the cost of living, you didn't have to adjust to distance learning, you didn't miss some your most important life events because the world was shut down, etc. All of those problems manufactured by the generation of adults who are now 50 and older - but, primarily Boomers, who are statistically the most wasteful, selfish, and destructive generation in US history.

This is awesome! When I worked at Paul Mitchell the School Delaware. We did the same thing for one of the teachers. We did a disguise fundraiser to send her back home to Zimbabwe. She hadn’t been home in 18 years. Her father was very I’ll and we made it possible for her to see him.

This is a realization I have had recently, that people in Rhode Island are more outwardly kind towards people than in other states! Almost everything I see about RI online has something to do with something fun, artistic, creative, kindness themed, etc.!! Way to go easterners ❤
