It was at a Catholic University. As a Catholic woman, I could totally relate to his speech. What do we have in this current generation? Young ladies who want to get married and have children... Who can NOT... 1. Find a husband as good looking as Harrison Butker. 2. As rich as Harrison Butker. 3. As devoted to God as Harrison Butker. 4. As family oriented as Harrison Butker. What DO they have? 1. Student loans that Biden will NEVER pardon. 2. Useless degrees that are not available in the job market. 3. No good prospects for husbands. 4. No choice but to hold off having children because they're not in a financial position to do so.

I gave up a solid 14-year career to be a stay at home mom to 2 boys. Fast forward, and I'm a divorced mom dealing with a deadbeat dad who won't pay child support. Why didn't Buttker talk about how many marriages end in divorce because the man breaks up the family? And how horrible it is for the woman who lives as a single mother, in poverty, exhausted working multiple jobs. Not everyone is glad they became homemakers because now I'm 63, and my retirement sucks because of my homemaker years.

This guy may be a staunch Catholic but he is also a MILLIONAIRE! It is really easy for a woman to decide to stay home and be barefoot and pregnant when she is married to a millionaire. But for the rest of us in the plebe class, an overwhelming majority of Americans need multiple sources of income just to support a family. If right-wingers and religious zealots want women to stay home and raise the kids, then start telling the men to get 3-4 jobs to financially support it!

One Swift fan account joked about petitioning for the pop star to replace Butker as the Chiefs' kicker. A real online petition, calling for the Chiefs to dismiss Butker for his "sexist, homophobic, anti-trans, anti-abortion and racist remarks," has gained 95,000 signatures and counting since Monday. Butker and the team have not commented publicly on his speech and the backlash to it, though late Wednesday the NFL issued a statement distancing itself from it. Butker has been vocal about his faith, telling the Eternal Word Television Network in 2019 that he grew up Catholic but practiced less in high school and college before rediscovering his belief later in life. Last year, Butker appeared in an ad for the nonprofit Catholic Vote urging Kansans to support a referendum that would limit abortion rights in the state (it was ultimately unsuccessful). He's also one of several athletes who has partnered with a Catholic prayer app. And days after the Chiefs won this year's Super Bowl, Butker spent a week "in reflection" at a monastery in California. He was persuaded, he said, in part by leadership's argument about how many milestones graduating seniors had missed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. At one point, he referenced an Associated Press article from earlier this month about the revival of conservative Catholicism that prominently featured Benedictine College as an example. The official KZread video of Butker's speech shows the crowd standing and applauding at the end, though the AP reports that reactions among graduates were mixed. Several told the outlet they were surprised by his comments about women, priests and LGTBQ people. Kassidy Neuner told the AP that the speech felt "degrading," suggesting that only women can be homemakers. Even the official Kansas City account weighed in, tweeting on Wednesday that Butker resides not there but in a neighboring suburb, Lee's Summit. The tweet has since been deleted and the account apologized for the tweet. Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas tweeted that he believed Butker holds a "minority viewpoint" in the state but defended his right to express it. The Los Angeles Chargers also trolled Butker in its Sims-style schedule release video on Wednesday, which ends with a shot of his animated, number 7 jersey-wearing character cooking and arranging flowers in a kitchen.

If he keeps his family intact and raise good kids who value differences in people, he is a good man. We need more women who value their marriages and put their home first. Are they still a majority?. If some women chose another path, that does not make them less of a woman, they too should be respected.

  • @Jayy_sad

It’s not more honourable than being educated working. You’re not more honourable because you open your legs, overpopulate and breed/birth kids that didn’t ask to be born for your selfish desires. Y’all like to pretend that’s contributing only but many breed/birth kids for very selfish reasons and them and their kids don’t contribute but become a burden and a problem for others. They demand a village and others to take care of the non mandatory choice they’ve decided to take multiple times. They want others to treat them as superior for being pregnant and then others to deal with the dirty work of birthing them and then others have to pay for them and then others have to be their village and take care of the kids they chose to breed/birth in horrible conditions for their own selfishness. It’s an extra curricular activity and not an obligation nor mandatory. Stop being entitled and stop thinking you’re superior. Nobody has to take care of your problem. Most parents have nothing related to being honourable. Cleaning after yourself and Feeding the kids you chose to breed/birth doesn’t make you special. Most educated women and working women are educated and clean after themselves and cook for themselves. Millions of women ain’t mothers. Studies show half women will be single and child free soon. Have you see. The numbers ? More women are choosing to be children than men. Imagine saying being with a man and breeding/birthing kids for the parents selfish desires is the most important when it’s not. He’s speaking his opinion as if it’s a fact. Who is he a man to tell women what’s supposed to be important to the zBreeding/birthing kids they didn’t ask yo be born ain’t superior. He was also addressing university hand meters graduates that were single and child free and he told them there life hasn’t started until they breed/birth and marry. Which is false. He said what they should be looking forward for ain’t opportunities their education will give them but their future non existent marriage and kids that don’t exist. If he was dressing a room of work that chose to have many kids-that would be different but it was a an event related to academic achievements. Imagine going to an event of women that chose to birth a bunch of kids and telling them what should be important to them. Some of y’all just want someone to tell y’all that you’re superior to other women because you chose to breed/birth a bunch of kids that didn’t ask to be born for your selfishness and yes many kids grow up in poverty, trauna and deal with mental health and are forced to tolerate their breeders/birthers/parents. Being a parent doesn’t make you superior nor a good person. Many kids blame their parents for trauma and mental health and most mental health issues are linked to childhood trauma. Being a breeding/birthing machine ain’t 1% more superior than educated or working women. Your life doesn’t start when you birth a kid that didn’t ask to be born nor when you marry. Being a home maker isn’t the best job nor a superior job nor what defines the value of a woman. Imagine telling a woman her life is only important or successful and has only begun if she chooses to overpopulate the world and rip her body and risk losing her dignity, bodily autonomy and physical privacy when she doesn’t want to.

This if they were most excited about was becoming mothers why did they get a college degree. I felt like the women in the audience were being told that they should go home and raise babies and find husband's to pay them students loans I guess smh. Why talk about being a mother as a vocation at a college graduation smh.

I'm pretty he sure he thought i was appropriate because it was at a Catholic University. NOTHING of what he said is against Catholic teaching.
