Not only did they reunite but they came back better than ever. They are probably one of the top five heavy metal bands of all time as far as longevity, consistency of quality and ability to remain creative.

It's nothing new. Even hundreds of years ago the Church shot themselves in the foot. Vivaldi was a clergyman. He died penniless. Bach was a church organist. The church tried to shut down a lot of great composers (most of them prior to Mozart were involved in the clergy-it was the only way to get an education) because the sacred music "took away from the text". The music brought the people in. Look up Palestrina and the Council of Trent. Stryper had the chops and the songs and if the church was smart, they would have gone all in with Stryper. If they wanted to bring people in, that would have been the way to do it.

You need to do your research before spouting off random stuff you know little about. Michael Sweet was never an official member of Boston. He might have gone on tour with Boston for a short time in 2008, but he turned down Tom Scholz's offer to become a permanent member so he could focus more on touring and recording with Stryper.

So basically once some church that paid Stryper's way in hopes of making more tax free money took their backing away, the singer lives off of his wife's parent's money, the drummer does nothing, the guitar player works in a Crutchfield warehouse, and the bass player....who knows. hahahaha.

Stryper was either genius branding or the most misleading band name in history. Before my time, but I remember seeing their band logo- as an adult- and thinking it was "Stripper" just with an edgy 80's butt rock spelling.
