I work as a nurse. I can see that being a first aid/ medical station. Have your prescriptions in one box. Bandages in a second box. Sharp implements like scissors scalpels Etc in the third and other implements such as heat packs and miscellaneous things in the 4th box. I can not tell if those are waterproof. But I can see them holding copies of important documents in the basement or cellar even if you need to put them in vac bags first. Other papers like area maps or manuals. Endless possibilities.

I sew. For storage of sewing supplies, which we are all going to need if something happens (either for making or repairing garments, tents, blankets, etc., or for extreme emergency sutures), I use a fishing tackle box. Lots of compartments, and they lift up and fold out so you can see everything. Also, tackle boxes are rectangular so they store easily alongside other items and they come in all kinds of sizes. They’re also good for first aid kits because you can see what you have with all the different trays.

The collapsible boxes I use for ordering in the back of my car when hau,ing things that you don't want getting crushed or mixed up -- grandkids presents, groceries, picnic supplies, etc. Good for temporary hauling stuff around the house (cans, blankets, garden supplies) while you find a place for it to live more permanently.

Those little ammo boxes would make excellent med kits. Label each one with specs. I use the bigger plastic ones with removable trays as same for med supplies when in the bush. Waterproof and easy to haul. Those little ones are neat!

The Green bins are ammo cans. You can store different caliber in different canisters. They hold very heavy weight! I also store seeds in them. I use a lot of clear bins so I can see what's in them and I like to keep a sharpie and labels near each storage place in my house, so when I take something out or put something new in, I can mark it on the bin. The labels on the bin are in alphabetical order to keep track.

The smaller bins are definitely ammo containers. They can also be used whenever you have small items that you want to store in a tightly sealed containers that will keep out moisture. As you said, great for storing seeds or valuable documents.

I have a lot of small electronics - cables, adapters, 12v stuff, 110v stuff, solar components, hand crank radios, thumdrives, rechargable everythings, etc. It would be awesome to organize all of that. The one organization system that has endured the test of time uses 1-gal or 2-gal ziplock freezer bags. They are cheap, reasonably sturdy, clear, and can be re-organized when necessary. Freezer bags go into labeled totes according to their category. Whatever I do, I add an inventory list! Excel is every prepper's friend.

I too use ziplocks a lot. I label them and the boxes they go into. I don’t use excel (or a computer), I use paper and pencil for inventories and have two copies. One for the master book and one for in the box so I know at a glance what’s in there.

As for the crate, I can see it holding a backpack size suitcase. Each one has a laminated paper with assignments if you will for needs in an emergency to gather quickly . If you are dealing with small children then they know what they need to gather and put in the box. I think this would help free up adult time in a crisis in a crisis.

One thing I find useful for small objects is hanging bag organizers. They are clear plastic bags with zip lock type closures. They measure about 10 x 12 inches and have a hanging hook for a regular closet rod. I use them for cables and chargers and miscellaneous electronics. They are clear so you can see everything at a glance. I bet they would work nicely for first aid supplies too.

The pack of 4 small plastic bins from Costco for $9.99 are my go to storage. I can’t lift much and they stack wonderfully, out of season clothes, gardening supplies, etc etc. they are often on sale for $7.99 for 4. I currently have 4 packed with evacuation food, in a closet by my back door, clearly labeled with contents and about 11 pounds each. Something I can handle at 72.

MTM Case-Gard ammo crates are larger than the four you showed in the tray. They weigh little, come in several sizes, are designed to take heavy loads, seal tightly and stack securely. A medium-sized one sits on top of a large one (it’s just taller than the medium) and is just the right height to sit in my pickup bed under the cover, without wasting space.

We use a couple of the flip out bins when we load the trailer with food. I have a list of food I will need for the trip... pantry, fridge, dry & freezer. As I load it, others carry it out and load into cupboards or fridge/freezer, bring it back in and I fill more and cross off my list. We do the opposite when we come home. Grab the bins and pull all the food out and take it back inside... if there is any leftover.

Great Finds - I purchased the Store-All Crate for ammo, but returned due to poor design, they angle inward at the bottom limiting the amount of ammo that can be stored. For the price Costco is selling them for, there are better options. But, know thinking I should have kept them to store prepping items (First- Aid items, etc).

I have collapsible bins that have slotted sides similar to a milk crate and work great for camping organization and taking supplies to charitable events during setup. The bins you have with the red rim are rated at a maximum weight capacity of 66 pounds. The green organizer is ammo cans, which also work well for an emergency car kit (first aide in 1, tools, emergency triangles/glow sticks/hi-vis vest, etc.), using it for seed storage is also a great idea. My favorite find has been a water tight storage box from Home Depot for my camping kitchen, 5 gallon buckets with gamma sealed lids, and an emergency binder (which I filled with the recommendations from your book!) Hope this helped.

Hey those plastic folding crates would work well folded away, then put grocery bags into to keep from rolling around in the back my cargo minivan escape pod… someone told me they were at Costco, but I couldn’t find them. Maybe I look 👀 at the one in suburbia when I go to an appointment next week. I think those boxes (that had 11 bars of chocolate, hmmm) are “ammo boxes”. I got one of those in bright orange because of the rubber gasket to store a HT GMRS radio along with 6 FRS radios & battery brick/usb charging cable with lighting. We keep it in the big locked equipment bin for our neighborhood CERT team for a backup eComms.
