It's already been mentioned in the comments who Waylon Jennings is (He also did the theme for 'Dukes of Hazard' if you remember that, though I might be showing my age there, lol). When I first saw the title, the album (of the same name) that Struggle did with Adam Calhoun came to mind, so was surprised when I'd never actually heard this track before. Thx for the reaction to it.

Also Waylon Jennings was a country legend back in the day with Willie Nelson. They called him an Outlaw for his music back then😂😂😂. But it was great stuff

I love this song so much and can relate to Struggle Jennings . The line that hits me hard every single time is when Struggle says "It's harder coming home than it was going in..." I'm a recovering addict and went to prison for 3 years for drug charges. When you are in active addiction (trying to numb yourself, usually due to trauma, you are constantly putting yourself into situations to experience new trauma - watching people die, women getting SA'd, getting beat up/jumped for your drugs, getting arrested and getting locked up which is a traumatic experience in itself, etc) that is probably part of the reason so many people relapse - because when you get sober all the emotions you were numbing originally come back full force and then you also have compounded trauma from when you were using that you never dealt with and that has to be dealt with as well. That's why I don't think any drug rehab that only offers 30 day, 60 day, 90 day programs, even a full year, are effective. Scientifically the brain takes 18 months to heal itself from the drug and/or alcohol abuse so that tells me that people LONG TERM treatment and that they not only need to treat the addiction but also all the trauma or it will just resurface and lead you right back to active using. I got my degree in Addiction Counseling after I did my time and found out how broken the system is for addicts. ❤

On the pain killer shit, they effect ppl differently, some ppl zonk out and some it hypes them up. If you’re addicted and you can’t get any it’s going to be a rough couple of weeks or you turn to heroine. God whiling you make it out of the cycle.

When you first start doing the drug you get high. Then time passes and you don't realize that something has happened that your not aware of. Your no longer doing the drug the drug is doing you. The good time is now over and you are being controlled by this drug. You stop taking the drug and your sick as hell. You will do anything to make that sick go away. Your life becomes a living hell. You want to stop but you don't know how. I did this for almost 15 years. I been clean for almost 8 years now and pray for anyone going through that hell daily. It will eat you alive
