Animal products, meat specifically don't lose much if any vitamin content from cooking and happen to be the most calorically dense food sources. Higher caloric density is the power source for our big energy consuming brain, cultures with higher meat consumption having a proportionate increase in brain size specifically frontal lobe growth. Gorillas are an example of an ape that are biologically adapted to a high plant based diet. Our gut is shorter, our appendix shorter, and overall less effective at digesting fibrous plant matter. When our ancestors started eating more animal protein our guts shrank (one of the most energy consuming organs) and simeoultaneously our brains grew. Plant food is objectively worse calorically, in digestibility, and in safety in quantity. That said fruits and vegetables although containing a small quantity of toxic chemicals per unit, they are safe to eat in supplementary quantities and they provide great ease of access to some harder to get vitamins and minerals vs animal products. As far as I know you can not do this to a saltie. They are much bigger, far more aggressive, far stronger, just as quick, maybe even quicker and have much higher stamina than an Aligator. Some say they are even more intelligent than an Aligator.
