I'm going to have to try dunlops now. for my money they blew the slinkies out of the water, especially in the chords and tapping departments

on my own jazz bass i prefer the dunlops, but here i think i like the EB's more.

Recently, I'm more on the Dunlops side ️😉

I was using super brights for a long time both because I liked them and they were the cheapest, now I will give the eb's a try since they are the cheapest now. It might not be the best of comparisons with the sound because the dunlops have been on the bass for 10 months but ultrasonic baths every 2-3 months really help with bringing back that brand new zing. Here the dunlops have a more balanced tone with eb's little bit more scooped in a pleasant way. Very nice tone btw.

Dunlops Super Brights are my favorite strings! EBs are the second!

@@BARTFUNKBASS after giving my super brights a few ultrasonic IPA baths in the past year D core of the finally slipped I guess and it didn't hold to the tuner in any way. I put on the slinkys. I think I got some more output, with same amp settings I get a little louder, driven tone but I think I'd go for super brights for the tone. I have a gig tomorrow and I am still waiting for these to break in but super brights gave a workable more balanced tone right out of the pack. The problem is my middle finger got inflammation probably because I trimmed my nail bad and I can't play that comfortably.

Really good comparison, I think Dunlop sounded better. Later Comment: Actually, I changed my mind when I listened with better speakers. EBs seemed more definitive.

Hey, (My name is Bart as well😄) It's funny 'cause these two sets of strings (Dunlop Super Brights and EB Slinkys) are indeed my favorite two sets of Bass strings and I was (kinda) struggling between the two, and the Dunlops "seem to" have a bit more Punch (for slapping) and the EB's seem to have a bit more overall Warmth and fullness to them - which I Love. Right now, I'm gonna switch BACK to the Super Bright (nickels) for the Fender Player Plus V I just got (Which by the way sounds fantastic already with the Fender strings that it came with😄); but the Dunlops should push it into overdrive; I'll keep you posted, Thanks a lot for the review. 👊🏾

Great comparison! Do you feel the EB to have a lot more tension than Super Brights?

No, I don't. For me, EB are quite loose and I like them like that.

@@aadvb6664 I don't know about the tension, but Cobalts are probably the brightest strings I've ever played.

Slap, fingers and pick are mine. Chords are from the "Autumn Leaves" and tapping is from Victor Wooten's 1992 bass lesson.
