I'm top-5 Developer and actually participated in a month-long Developer intensive earlier this year. For me, one of the biggest things to be on the lookout for when you're high Developer is people who (consciously or unconsciously) are taking advantage of you. Developers are so giving of their time and energy, they keep wanting to give people chances, they keep seeing the potential, that sometimes it's hard to recognize that you've gotten into a toxic relationship where you're doing all the giving but not receiving anything back. (Much like an average/unhealthy 2, even though I'm personally a 9w1.) At times like this, it's useful to have objective observers (like your friends) who can pull you back and sound the warning bell when you're falling into toxic patterns.

Interestingly I need a enneagram 1 sometimes to tell my type 7 to give up developing. I'd die on that hill if it weren't for her saying "They (2 specific co-workers) are never going to commit to that improvement. They don't want to to learn or better themselves. Point your developer elsewhere" 😂 Knowing when to redirect those helping urges is vital. I'm grateful for my work friend. ❤

Hey, thanks for the heads-up on avoiding toxic situations. It's always good to have friends who've got your back.

Have you been listening to Eminem's “Sing for the Moment” before making the video? Because at 12:08 you say “lose yourself in the moment”, and at 12:58 when you say “then those people either betray you turn against you or they resent you”, to me, it sounds “then these critics crucify you, journalists try to burn you, fans turn on you, attorneys all want a turn at you”. (I'm not a native English speaker though ; that might explain why I see a resemblance 🤣).

Thanks for the catch! Eminem's words must have been subconsciously playing in my head while filming.
