Before malding keep in mind this is for new players and who is the easiest characters to beat the game with in order, arguably adam1 should of been higher up because of how decent his jump kick is, other than that I feel it's pretty sound. OOS! #MIGHTYGANG

13:48 skate2 blitz is actually pretty hard to control, you lose movement control and it often goes further than intended. you can only special cancel around the end of it

As a casual player I love using Estel's heavy attack and alt blitz to combo enemies around the screen. Also, Skate 2's normal blitz is a combo finisher and free hit on basically everything, one of my favorite characters for sure.

Thanks for the content. What I actaully liked best about this video is your explanations about the strongest moves and combos of each character. That brings me to my suggestion. Could you do a vid where you show all that OP stuff like beating everything with Adam 1 Jump Kick or Blaze 2 infinte and so on?? Would be great to have a compilation of the best stuff every character has to offer. ;)

After playing consistently for about 4 months now, definitely true 😅

I agree with this list. Maybe could use some shuffling but "realistically" speaking this is accurate. A lot of these characters also could be rated by fun, as well as fundamentals. Like Estel has some tactical tricks she can use - and they're very fun - but the issue is you have to stick to her most boring tactics making it far more difficult to "play" through, which ends in experimentation and failure since she's got a lot of unsafe moves despite them being very interesting mobility options. This was really handy to evaluate as well since it does seem like "Blitz efficacy" is the defining characteristic of survival in this game, and that's a very good metric to go by. I tend to use less effective blitz moves (because I prefer their style) but it's interesting to see how much that choice likely costs me. For instance I use Shiva 4's base blitz instead of the jump kick, because it's cooler to me stylistically, but this does make him quite harder to use since it's very unsafe and a hugely committal move. This does say a lot about how they shored up the game's blitz's too, making some characters who had previously been drowning far more effective by augmenting 1 move. Shiva 3 used to be my main, and I would still use his original blitz despite his new one being far better, for style reasons again - and this would drastically lower his tier rating since it's not nearly as safe and when it whiffs there's big problems. I'm glad you did this, it's gonna help me teach the girlfriend more too. She fights hard but drowns when it gets tough, I'll start having her emphasize blitz's and pick characters with better ones. Most likely skate or blaze 3 dut to their satisfying, but not annoying sounding, blitz's. Very informative, thank you.

In my opinion, I like the Hunter family. Skate's blitz move is great, same with the Y moves and the head punches. Cherry is my all time favorite, the guitar and the head punches do it all. I also like Adam, his Y moves are just, yes.

Would happily watch your tier list for pro players

Couldn't do that unfortunately because it would require me to grade people and in theory, say that some people are worse than others. It could cause an unhealthy rift in our healthy community so can't do it sorry, I can tell you however that the top 3 players in my opinion are probably nevermore,3lo,golden axe

Adam 1 was the first character I beat mania with and I thought he was godlike with his super long range, high damage and turning enemies into projectiles. I'm surprised to see him in F.

Axle 2 is one of my safest characters. It's true his main punch locks you in place a split second but after adjusting to that I think he's super easy to use. Max 2 is actually the only character I've ever completed a deathless Mania+ run with. Cherry and Axle 4 I'm actually terrible with no matter how much I try to get good with em. I've probably done 20 runs on Mania with Cherry and I'm just bad with her still. Adam 4 is perhaps my favorite because charge kicking them repeatedly as they bounce off the wall is super gratifying. I tend to play much more carefully and slowly than you though. I'm always going for massive score rather than speed running.

Yeah you may be naturally good with that characters, I just know if you miss a jab vs jump kick girls or kick boxers or big bens or weapon holding enemies you're probably getting smacked unless you defensive special, and as a noob they're probably getting smacked the next time they miss jab and losing all that green hp

All I play is Survival. So I'm kind of looking at this from a Survival standpoint

Roo basically auto juggles in the corner and Bruce is a dope star move. Also you can back attack across the whole screen. Easily B tier.. also no one from 2 should be below C. But I pretty much agree with the list.. Blaze 4 is easily the best

SOR1 Adam is my main and I beat Arcade mania+ with him he's atleast a C grade cause his combos are limited

Well I have to question Axel 3's position. He's actually quite hard because all blitz are unsafe, combos are hard or inconsistent at least from my point of view. To get into safe positions with him can be hard once the game gets heated up. I think he is at F but it's just my opinion.

Hard to do these lists, isn't his dragon smash super ? run into pack + smash = win but new player probably wont be doing that

his adult self is not in the game but his younger self SOR2&3 is amazing in SOR4 I had no problem beating Mania Plus with him but I will say skate SOR3 new star move the human Cannonball sucks I don't know what they were thinking giving him that so I just kept his original star move finisher but retro skate is one of the best characters in the game in my opinion

One thing I really don't like is overpowered blitz attack abuse. Every other co-op game I'm in has a Shiva spamming alt blitz for days. C'mon ppl, let's have a little finesse....

Yes it was a lazy dlc, the only way to do anything in survival = spam the blitz with the most s, that obviously translated very strongly to the normal game unfortunately. The game may now be a beast that cannot be fully sorted with those two modes co-existing :\

Mania+ seems impossible without Shiva.

bullshit SOR1 characters are stupidly fool proof simple to beat everybody.. just fucking hit and stun lock easy... also the police car special move.

The alt moves ruined the original flow of the game. Once the DLC released it became a spam fest, even more so in v8
