If I just normally run my camera off of a USB pluggen into the 12v outlet, which those are all 5v output, so that being said I won't have the voltage reducer in my wire, what can I do to hardwire and reduce voltage to the recommended 5volts??

My dash cam needs a constant 12vdc and a switched ign 12vdc, do not care about the retained power thing where key is off but door isn't open. On you info packet you're holding in the video, do you know which fuses in this left instrument cluster fuse block can provide that? That one fuse you mentioned that is 10A is "SEO/Retained accessory power" according to the owners manual.

Did you have an OnStar rear view mirror before you replaced with auto dimmer one? I would think you could use the power and gps antenna? Any ideas?

Great Video. Thank you for posting. What is a GPS module? Why would you need that for dash cam? I already have GPS on my car. Would appreciate your reply.

It looks like the fuse that you pointed to was for the console display. Terminal 34. Are you sure that the 10 amp fuse you pointed to is the same circuit as pin 11?
