To start our street food tour in ESKİŞEHİR, we had Turkish breakfast at a very local shop. We tried dishes that we never had for breakfast before such as tahini sauce with grape molasses, sour chili sauce, and a very soft gozleme.
Doyuran Kahvaltı Salonu : İstiklal, Demirciler Sk. No:7/C, 26010 Odunpazarı/Eskişehir
To digest that massive Turkish breakfast, we went for a walk and we saw a gentleman on the street selling freshly squeezed orange juice
And right few steps ahead, we went to the most famous shop to eat ESKİŞEHİR specialty, çiğ börek.
Papağan Çiğbörek : Arifiye, Köprübaşı Cd. Yalbı Sok No:5, 26010 Odunpazarı/Eskişehir
While walking around the local Bazaar, we bumped into a shop selling pumpkin desserts that we never tried before, Çıtır Kabak Tatlısı.
MESHUR BOZACI
Right across the street, we went to the most famous Boza shop to drink this amazing corn fermented drink topped with cinnamon.
Karakedi Bozacısı : Arifiye, Köprübaşı Cd. no:22, 26750 Odunpazarı/Eskişehir
To continue our street food tour in ESKİŞEHİR, we went for lunch to one of the oldest lokantasi in town where they have dishes I had never seen and tried in my life before.
Trakya Lokantası : Deliklitaş, Değirmen Sk. No:10, 26090 Odunpazarı/Eskişehir
To digest all the delicious food we had, went for a walk around the Bazaar, the promenade by Porsuk river and then we got into a leather shop where my wife Sherly, the camera girl, bought a lovely leather jacket. ESKİŞEHİR is well known for that.
Eskişehir Özlem Deri : Hamamyolu Caddesi, Tuğlan Sk No : 10/A, 26000 Odunpazarı/Eskişehir
Moving on with our street food tour, while walking we stopped by a shop selling nuts and other nuts paste and oil. The owner explained to us how they make their oil and he made us try some of their pastes and nuts. It was such an interesting experience.
Haşhaşçı Dedeş : İstiklal, İki Eylül Cd. No:48, 26010 Odunpazarı/Eskişehir
And right next to it, we saw people lining up until we saw mountains of local sweets and we decided to give it a go. We tried Kadayıf Dolması that people really love but unfortunately that wasn't my case.
Evral Tatlilari : İstiklal, 26010 Odunpazarı/Eskişehir
To end our street food tour in ESKİŞEHİR, we went to try for the very first time the famous Balaban Kebab cooked by a kebab king.
Eskişehir Balaban Kebap Yunus usta : Eskişehir Balaban Kebap Yunus usta
Hope you enjoyed the ultimate street food tour in ESKİŞEHİR. Stay tuned for more street food tour videos in Turkey.

In Turkey, when one says CHEESE, it is always meant to be BEYAZ PEYNİR ( WHITE CHEESE) In Europe, it is know as FETA. ( Though taste is somehow different) KAŞAR is like ordinary DUTCH CHEESE. While KAŞAR is mostly consumed in toasties, sandwiches or menemens, white cheese is eaten at ordinary breakfasts ın every house. Though if you want to have cheese with a hot crispy SİMİT, then I find white cheese more tasty. Production methods of both must be different.

Mr. Ginestra, thanks for your visit to Turkey. Many gourmets are visiting Turkey but they are visiting the same places and tastes etc. but you are not. You are visiting real and different Turkish foods in backstreets. Speaking Turkish there two different 'goodbye's. İf you leave somewhere you say ' hoşçakal' not ' güle güle'. The person who is staying \ not leaving side says 'Güle güle' ❤️👋🤤

Tahini( Tahin in Turkish) is made from crushed sesame seeds; and pekmez ( known molasses in English) is made from boiling down a vegetable or fruit. In Turkey grape molasses, carob molasses and mulberry molasses are commonly used. Tahin and pekmez have unique taste together. Sometimes I prefer tahin together with Jam. Türkiye'ye hoşgeldin.

Abroad and Hungry Geçen videonuzda tahan pekmezi açıklamıştım.

just looking at the scoops from different dishes for the breakfast is really comforting, except for the chili plate, probably delicious but be cautious; so happy to encounter the process of making tahin in a real machine, only know the cute blender at home ... have to blitz up forever. having waited for this film since last weekend, guess i just missed this. will surely watch again. Thanks. and the street trampoline is some idea ! cool City !

Wonderful video Max. I like your interactions with local people. You are sincere and easy-going and this is what we Turks value most. By the way, "kaşar" is the Turkish version of Swiss cheese "gruyere." It was first made in the northeastern province of Kars, by Russian-German farmers in the late 19th century, at a time when Kars was under Russian occupation. Locals learned to make it and continued making kaşar even after Russia ceded Kars to Turkey in 1921. As for "haşhaş", the paste of which you ate at that shop, it is made from "poppy seeds". So, that "ezme" (meaning "paste, pate, or butter"; for example "fıstık ezmesi"/"peanut butter, or crushed peanuts") is made of ground poppy seeds. Poppy cultivation is common in Central Anatola, especially in the provinces of Afyon and Konya. Most of the poppies are used for producing "medical opium."

welcome to our city :) The breakfast room is a very popular place and its history dates back to ancient times, a hot sauce made with paprika you eat. Tahini is made from sesame. The dessert you eat is made from pumpkin. It is boiled with sugar and water and cooked crunchy in the oven. You should come to this city student city in summer, not in winter. You introduced our city very well, thank you, hope to see you again :)
