I've actually played against him on the original arcade SF2. He was good.
Man, finding time for both this and Diablo 4 is going to be brutal. Between these, Tears of the Kingdom, and FFXVI, most of my favorite series of all time are coming out with games a couple months apart.

I am a Street Fighter fanboy. When a new Street Fighter game drops, I get it. When 5 dropped, I knew nothing going in, I just bought it. I remember thinking, does Capcom hate us? I was SO mad. I hated the roster, I hated the lack of features. I’m not big on online gaming so I rely heavily on single player modes, I had NOTHING to do! The game was a shell, and you could tell Capcom only made it to promote and push tournament play. That being said, this one really feels like Capcom is finally serving the fans.
You guys make a great double act. Would love more of you guys together!
I don't think SF is for me in a more competitive sense but the way you guys described the single player content has really sold me on picking this up day one. I can def see the Yakuza comparison when it comes to World Tour Mode.

The single player will trick you into the multi-player by slowly making you learn all these complex systems over a long period of time, it will tempt you to test out the skills you've spent honing through single player. And let me tell your first match against a human opponent at a similar skill level will unlock the greatest gameplay loop in the world to you. Fighting game multi-player being the best gameplay loop that is, not just street fighter
@I_Am_The_Social_Reject

@@Jabroni_14no it won't. People who don't play multiplayer...... The reason isn't because they don't know the systems. Plus story mode doesn't teach you the deep systems in games. It's people wanting to be competitive that learn the complex system that keeps practicing that learn it. Story mode only requires basic skills. Even learning some complexity, it's not going to be enough to top players online. So only competitive players like I said will switch over

I'm really looking forward to playing World Tour mode too, and I agree with your statement @EastCoastTone 😊 I'll play some 1v1 locally with friends, and I'll probably try the 1v1 online mode, but without the World Tour mode, I'm not sure I would have bothered getting this game...

@@I_Am_The_Social_Reject I honestly think both can be true at the same time. Obviously there will still be some "offline warriors" no matter what, but I can absolutely see how the way World Tour teaches the game could motivate someone to really give online a shot. If they pair with people that are where they are and they get their first win, naturally people are gonna wanna play more to see how far they can go and continue to learn more about their character and the game from there. I don't think it's just a "one or the other" type of situation, especially since the game prepares you for that cross-over more than most other fighting games.
Perhaps some of the worst box art and also an incredibly bad logo, but it looks like a fun game! Definitely picking it up.

The single player mode sounds fun. Capcom really fires out one neatly wrapped up package after another with their recent game releases. Monster Hunter was awesome way back on PS2. It just took forever for most people to get the memo for whatever reason. RE isn't really RE anymore though, and hasn't been for a while now. They should have ended that series and began a new one, modern RE looks, and feels NOTHING like RE.

Great review. Even though I’m in my 30s, I’ve never really played a Street Fighter game. Glad to hear there’s a solid single player mode and beginner friendly control schemes. Definitely a fan of easy to learn-difficult to master games.
Awesome Behrudy is back! I've been wondering how all the people you've brought on the show over the years are doing especially your friend Satan AKA Aaron and Andrew. We got the recent update on Andrew and it was great to see him on the show again. I'd love to see a then to now episode of the faces of the HCG show.
Great stuff, guys! Genius choice with the Mike Haggar setup. 😂
Hmmm, It's like Capcom knew it is up to them to provide us with a game that we will probably play for the next decade. Whatever they do with their dlc and whatever battlepass they put on top of this masterpiece, they really have a great leg to stand on. This is how you do a game that people are willing to invest money in.
Music to my ears! From one OG to another, thanks for all the great content John!! Can’t wait to start playing some brand new Street Fighter!!!
Haven't played since 4, but this new game mode has me interested. I always thought fighting games needed a more complex single player mode. Soul Caliber and Smash Bros always benefited from not just having an arcade mode.
So cool to see Behr!
John just cranking em out these days, great to see! I love thatthey have the modern controls, I didn't grow up with the quarter circle, half circle. It just seems really antiquated from a time when you only had 2 buttons and a stick. In 5 it felt like I was trying to get those down reliably more than playing the actual game!
@OzonebxGaming
Жыл бұрын
It hasn't been quarter circle for a long time. Basically Down Back or Down Forward and the move still comes out. The motions are to help with the timing of the links or target combos in the later games. The Meriden SF games are all made with controllers as the standard since that's what everyone is guaranteed to have if they buy it on console.

I think it just depends on your history/what you’re used to. I’m by no means great at SF but I’ll stick with the controls I learnt when SF came out. Just as younger people will no doubt stick with the alternate controls as for old schoolers to learn the new controls is just as baffling as it is for newbies to learn the old. Something for everyone 👍🏻
@straizo7985

Street Fighter was always a 6-button game from the very beginning, so it wasn't a way to "crank" more moves into a very limited amount of buttons like you're implying (you're describing old fighting games like they were played in a Atari 2600 controller lol), it was a design decision. Modern controls are great for newcomers, it'll let them have fun with the game from the get go, but you have limited options with that control scheme: you lose access to half of your buttons, some special moves (there's not enough slots for every single special move on Modern's special move button) and also get a 20% damage penalty. Motion inputs aren't antiquated, you just didn't bother to learn them. If you want to fully explore what your character has to offer in SF6, Classic is the way to go, and I expect most casual players who really like the game and wish to make the transition to the competitive aspects of the game will eventually change to Classic.
i saw it we pax east and was totally blown away. Can’t wait to get my hands on it

You guys ought to do this more often - You make a funny and knowledgeable team that play off each other very well . . .

"A celebration for Street Fighter fans, for new or old' Awesome review!
I think it’s important for new comers to know that you should consider playing World Tour first, as it explains EVERYTHING in the game. All the mechanics…everything. They slowly give you a new ability or mechanic to use and get used to. There’s also a mini tutorial when joining the Fighting Ground modes AND you can use Modern control settings to so easy combos and super moves. So yeah even though it’s true that these lads said about there being a lot of content and mechanics in the gameplay, there’s a lot of tutorials explaining not things not just relevant to SF6, but fighting games on general.
What an awesome collaboration! This is sick! also, I am absolutely ready for a Street Fighter Konquest mode

While I'm not getting it for now because here in Brazil it's insanely expensive, I'm happy to see that they finally took some time to make some great level designs again. In SFV most great stages were remakes of classic stages, and I don't think I ever loved any stage in SF4. I mean, the other amazing stuff is obviously positive as well, but uninspired stage design in fighting games is something that has been bugging me since forever. So it's great to see some of that be great again.

It's expensive worldwide because of high inflation, cost of living and etc. Remember it's the 1st version and there will be more later on. I recommend getting the final final definitive edition closer to the end of this generation at a more affordable price tag. I bought the Sf5 final version with all DLC at $20.
Got the Steelbook copy on PS5 pre-ordered. Can’t wait!

@@mbern4530 From what I see, Capcom found a balance that NRS never really did find. Mortal Kombat is in a really funky position where the hardcore members of the MK community are actually the casual players, with players who are more competitive-minded moving on to other games due to lack of exciting competitive scene with MK. The fact that SF6 is doing the unthinkable in managing to cater to both side of the audience scene is amazing on its own.

Y know, I'm not a big Street Fighter fan (post SF2) I dabbled with SF5, but found it to be up its own fundament in terms of control scheme. But SF6 really is supremely tempting. Particularly with the clever Yakuza style open areas that become framed fighting stages. It's like we can actually see what's 'off screen' for those cool backgrounds in the old levels!
