I carried a titanium i5r for my job as a medical equipment field technician until it came on in my pocket on two different occasions. I've since been using a microstream with no issues. Some people hate the hard to click microstreams, but you never have to worry about accidental activations. Sometimes I carry a i3t with a 10440 battery, but when I do it rides in my shirt pocket to make sure it doesn't get switched on by accident.

I carry a streamlight and haven't necessarily had an issue with it yet but I do think its worth mentioning that the streamlight is only ipx4 water resistant while the olight is ipx8 waterproof. If water is a potential part of the equation I'd have to give the olight the solid edge on durability

Us people located here in the wet, rainier regions need one that is completely water proof

I love all my Streamlight flashlight. I hate having to buy batteries.

I think you need to understand or clarify the difference between lumens and candela. The Olight should take the win for total light output however it is more floody. The streamlight would take the win for throw since the higher candela rating means it is more focused. To give the win to the streamlight because it is more focused is a strange choice.

That's a valid point but have you seen them side by side, in person? We can talk numbers all day long but when you put them neck and neck, one is better, and it was Streamlight. Not by much, but enough to make a difference in real world use.

Although I have a decent flashlight collection with several name brands I also like small cheap lights ! Would like to see a review of some of the best edc aa & aaa penlight and small Pocketable lights currently sold. Been trying to find the Zanflaire F3.Thanks. Paul

The olights tailswitch gets mushy after a few weeks of every day use. That veing said its still my favorot edc flashlight

Imagine saving money on batteries and convenience of plugging it in literally anywhere and the le has 2 batteries of course its going to last longer with lower lumens...other than that great review from an olight fan boy

I’d throw the Streamlight 1L-1AA in the mix. 350 lumens but 6400 candela! Similar price point to the microstream. It will take Cr123a, AA or even AAA. You review the Macrostream 500 lumens? Thoughts? I think the 1L-1AA beats that too.

Thanks, interesting delivery, I am a fan of "torches" or as you call them flashlights. And I have a office draw full of them plus there everywhere in the house. But over the past few years OLight has been the winner. I have subscribed as well, cheers

Its really easy to pile these things up!

I got the i5t.. thing is quite amazing. I didn't like the Streetlight.. It looked cool but not as durable or bright to me. The Light just makes you feel safe.. its very well built and would be the one id choose if I were stuck in the middle of nowhere.

@@exploringparks mine is replacing a little aluminum up rated Huskey brand cheap one I got at Home Depot about a decade ago for ten bucks. It even has a lanyard. But.. it’s kinda poorly assembled. Olight is renowned for their quality. Like the tail cap being almost solid copper.. that’s just cool.

Olight make ok flashlights but beware of the overseas customer support. I’ll take the American based Streamlight product over the Olight every time for that reason.

Olight have offices and distribution centres in most countries and have dedicated internet web pages for individual countries. so no over seas support.

Streamlight blows Olight away...sorry!!

Olight is complete garbage! I’ve had 3 and all 3 stoped working within 2 months! My streamlight porTac I’ve had for years and is still as good as new

That's some horrible luck right there. Streamlight makes some great products but their light output stats to price ratio is pretty lackluster.
