MUST READ... Funny story, I lost the pocket clip for my stylus pro and called Streamlight. I kept having problems getting anyone so I ended up punching in some extension for some random person. Apparently the phone rang in an important meeting with the top guys at Streamlight from what I gathered. Someone answered and I explained what had happened and I heard a lot of laughter from multiple individuals. I was on speakerphone. I was asked how I got that number and I said a lot of random buttons. More laughter ensued. The guy said let me get some information from you and I'll take care of you. Needless to say, a few days later, I received a pocket clip and a FREE Microstream! It was their newest version at the time. The info left inside had the gentlemans name who I had spoken to and personally took care of this package for me. He turned out to be the Head of their East Coast (regional) sales! I can't say enough good stuff about Streamlight! I have 8 of their products and am a loyal customer for life.

That was my biggest disappointment :(

My favourite, the best for urban EDC in the USB department.

Tip: A little bit of silicone grease on the o-rings help extend o-ring life and also helps with water resistance.

Excellent and honest review as always. I’ve got the coyote one and really like it.

My coyote light just came in and charging now. Cant wait to start using! Glad I got it with the high output first cause in a high stress situation you won’t remember to double click.

Not only have I used micros for EDC for years but I've had a polytac mounted on my fire helmet for about 10yrs and it's still strong.

Thanks for the review!! Helped me make my decision for my EDC.

I've had several issues with tail switches failing with small stream lights. I still carry them as a utility light but I have a hard time trusting them to always function. Oh and thank you for the review. You do an excellent job.

I lost mind and found it in my rock driveway after 5 inches of rain and it was run over multiple times as far as I can tell. I’ve washed and dried it accidentally many times too. Still works.

I love the Microstream USB. I have had the Coyote for a couple of years, and just ordered the Black. Great EDC light.

Streamlight honors their lifetime warranty too. Sent back a few well-used Stylus Pros for new tail caps without issues over the years.

Got mine two months ago, very nice light. Ordered the Coyote version, as I prefer the High Mode start up first....

Second, Streamlights are my favorite EDC lights and i would trust my life with any of their products. Mrgunsngear i would love to have that coyote colored one in my collection. Another awesome review bro

thanks for showing the new microstream some love! battery is a 10440 probably wont work with an efest flat top unless you use a small rare earth magnet or dollop of solder. my old microstream fits a 10440 button top. i got the ultrafire brand 4 pack on ebay for 10 bucks

These are awesome lights. I’ve had three of them that I’ve had for over a year now. They have survived the washing machine test many times lol. Only problem I’ve ever had is for some reason the tail cap on my coyote comes loose every once and a while.

I’m on my second one. I had my first one for about a year and a half to two years but I dropped it in a river so I had to order another. I got another coyote and I love it. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to go with another mini light

Just grabbed a coyote one. I'm in my truck all the time. Not sure why I never grabbed one. 🤔 Got a huge maglight as a gift and it rides in the toolbox cuz it's soooo loud and rattly can't wait to get it!

I’ve been comparing edc flashlights for the past couple of days. Seems like streamlight has the best bang for the buck and last longer. If you’re looking to store a light in a bag look at Streamlight 71500 Jr. with a lithium battery it will last 10 hours. I’ve had one since hurricane Sandy and has never let me down

Ive ot the stylus pro us and love it it's only 70 lumens but still been a great light. One setting and 6-7hrs of battery life.

I have to say i started buying "good" flashlights a few years back . I started with coast /led lensor and was happy for some time had to replace many times but price and performance was good . Then went to fenix and teralux bouth were briliant performers but more expencive , still fell short on durability. Then i found streemlight and found exactly what i have ben looking for A little simpilar and more dureable. I still have a lot of respect for the other brands that i mentioned but now im very happy with streemlight

Mike, I carry a non-USB Microstream for EDC and love it. Got it for $12 on Amazon thanks to a link you posted. Great review on this Microstream USB and I would like to get a Coyote version when I can find a deal on one. I hope you do a review on the new Olight I3T which will be out shortly. I think it will replace my Microstream.

Just got a Coyote. How did I miss this light? Finally a shorter replacement for my Preon 2AAA with the same output. And it’s rechargeable!

I had the coyote and lost it so I bought a (Amazon didn't have a red one) blue one thinking it would be easier to see if dropped and as soon as it arrived I tightened up the belt (it sucks) clip so it would fit tighter in my pocket and then I cut a thin round piece of plastic and put it inside the end cap hole so it will now go on and off easier...so far so good.

I'm very happy with the Poly Tac X I just bought and this one too has piqued my interest

Can you lock the output so that it always turns on the high setting first? Then double tap if you want low?

The only urban light i care about. Small and light; 50 lumens are enough for walks and dark closed spaces, with 250 for about 12 minutes if you need more light for some time. Hard to beat, and i really hope that Streamlight develops the basic platform for additional performance.

i might get one of these and 3d print an M-LOK mount for it as a cheap small weapon light

There is a lanyard that comes with the coyote colored microstream light, what are the configurations to attach this lanyard?

I have been carrying the Microstream 0114 model that has 45 lumens. It's a great light. I still cannot understand why people buy the EDC lights that have a wide diameter.

The boxers are the best part. Have you done an intro of the dogs? I think I remember seeing that. Miss my boxer Stubbs so much

The microstream is the Ruger LCP of tactical lights

I feel like one of these could be quite readily fitted to a long gun for a budget close-range rifle light. I mean sure that would be cheaping out super hard, but I've seen sillier things. At least it would be really light weight.

Brother it’s time to convert that garage door into a traditional spring assembly. It’s gonna cost you at first but it’s a lot cheaper to get parts for and a heck of a lot safer.

My only issue has been the pocket clip. I keep bending it. It gets caught on my seatbelt or other things, and bends.

The light has the tail switch where if you click all the way down it stays on hands free. So yes if you turn the light on then clip it to your hat the light stays on

I have a collection of Streamlight's. You can't go wrong with Streamlight. Some of the switches are programmable.

That's a 10440 battery which is the same size as a AAA. Have you tried running it on a AAA? It might work albeit probably not as bright, but if you need light in an emergency, it's always nice for a light to be able to use disposable batteries as well.

I love the form factors. But I HATE the multiple soft clicks to change modes. I’ll just stick to the old models that don’t have multiple modes.

If you get the black one, it starts low then double click to high. If you get the tan model, it starts at high and then double click to low. Just get the one that you would mostly likely use with just one click.

"Improvement over the cellphone." Absolutely. Can't tell you of the many times I've had to fiddle around with my cellphone to use the flashlight app, a real pain the butt!!

For $50 I'll take my Olight S1 Mini Baton for my EDC. It's not a "tactical" light but smaller, more lumens, more modes, has a magnetic tail so you can attach to metal surfaces, has similar removable pocket clip, is rechargible and has a lock out so you don't run it in your pocket.

I have a stubby 18350 light, Emisar D4 with the shorty tube. But I find that the AAA form factor is easier to EDC, clipped inside the front pocket. The lower profile makes it easier to forget that it’s even there.

Does anyone carry a Mag lite anymore?.....

@@Mrgunsngear sadly. I couldn't find one locally (I wanted one NOW for my new EDC kit) and opted to pay 50 to pick up the USB opposed to having a AAA shipped for half the cost. I don't like the idea of having to charge for outdoor/bushcraft/survival use. Would be better to carry an extra battery or two. Think I'll order a AAA version and compare, but the Lumens output on the USB cant be beat. Loving it so far though

I'm a police officer who Carrie's the giant rechargeable streamlight that every single cop has. I found myself always turning it down and getting tired of it always being on me. I still keep it in my car for traffic stops but now I use this microstream all the time to search and most low light no light activities. I even carry it in my pocket off duty. It's an amazing little light and all I really ever need in a flashlight.

This is a great light, it’s my EDC. Their only downfall is the clip, the clips come off way too easily. I’ve lost my clip while wearing it in my pocket.

Had the same issue. I ran a small zip tie across the clip so it wouldn’t pop off the light. It seems to be working out. Hope this helps.

JNH 88 I’m sorry... I have bought the AAA one a few times because of the clip falling off and eventually losing the light. After I put the zip tie on the one I have now g2g so far. Hopefully you find a clip or maybe can get one cheap? After this review think I’m going to get this one as well I love this light.

Great review! Buddy, clip your fur babys claws.. when they get that long, they start to be painful.. with every step.
