    Me too! I especially need to practice missed approaches more. LNAV+V worked very nicely with the NXi. Just armed approach mode on the AP just like any other approach, worked perfectly.

    In aviation, the usage of strobe lights and navigation lights (navlights) varies somewhat depending on the specific regulations of a country or the policies of an airline, but there are general practices:Navigation Lights (Navlights): These are usually turned on from dusk till dawn (night operations) to make the aircraft visible. Some operators also use them during the day, especially under low visibility conditions. Navigation lights are typically turned on just before engine start and remain on until the engines are shut down.Strobe Lights: Strobe lights are used to make the aircraft more visible to other aircraft. They are usually turned on when entering an active runway and remain on while in flight to increase visibility. Strobes are turned off when leaving the runway or in conditions where they might cause confusion or vision impairment to others, for example, when taxiing close to other aircraft or on the ground in foggy conditions

    When on the ground, since you know your airport elevation, you can set up the altimeter by setting it to the correct altitude. That should give you the correct pressure reading.

    Very new to aviation so please excuse my ignorance but after the missed approach hold wouldn’t flying back at the same 2000 along the heading going to the hold put you in jeopardy of a head on collision with other planes that might be also following the missed approached procedure

    Kip, just a comment - in real life we don't turn on the strobe and landing lights on while taxiing. These are turned on only at the runway when the tower has cleared you for takeoff.

    Another awesome vid mate learned alot once again.Can i ask if running Navigraph impacts on your frame rates or causes stuttering etc,im strongly considering getting it but im wary as ive finally got my settings on ultra and touch wood its going well.

    I can't say for sure since I don't usually use Navigraph too often, sorry -- I mostly am using Foreflight on my iPad. Maybe someone else in the comments section can chime in if they know for sure. I'd assume the in-game window has as minor impact on your FPS, and the standalone Navigraph Charts app (or something like the iPad app) would probably have less of an impact.

    Under general options > accessibility. Change cockpit interaction style to “lock”. Then turn the two tooltip options below it to “off”.

    Hey Bill. This video is a replay of a live stream where I'm talking with people in the chat. If you look at any of my videos that aren't marked "stream replay" then you'll find the concise ones you're talking about. Hope that helps. Here's an RNAV video I did back when the first version of the G1000 NXi was released that may be more like what you're looking for: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dWGizrCKicfeacY.html I add chapters/markers to all of those videos so you can quickly skip to the parts you're interested in.

    Great video and thanks for sharing. Interestingly, even though I have the latest update for the NXi, when looking at the approaches for KBKV, none are displaying what you show in your video, LNAV/VNAV, LNAV+V or LPV. It is just showing the standard: RNAV GPS 27. Anyone else experiencing this or know if I’m doing something wrong here?

    Do you have navigraph nav data installed? There’s an issue with it and sim update 6. Uninstall it using the Navigraph app and use the stock navdata for now, that should fix it!

    @@KipOnTheGround I went on to WT's Discord channel and asked. And it was ultimately Navigraph like you mentioned. What they told me was to do what you suggested, go into the Navigraph Navdata Center app and uninstall both the Navigraph Charts in-game Panel and the AIRAC Cycle. Than reinstall both. Fortunately this is fast. Once I did that, everything showed up properly. Thanks!

    What’s rolling cache do? And how many GB is recommended?

  • @KipOnTheGround

    @KipOnTheGround

    2 жыл бұрын

    It stores downloaded/streamed world data so its faster to access again. I believe the default is 8 GB but you can raise it if you have more disk space to spare. The “rolling” part just means it uses a max of what you set, so it’ll constantly fill it with more recent data and the older data rolls off. Just helps with performance basically.
