The Mind Flayer attacking Billy wasn't random in my opinion, it targets people who have troubled pasts and traumatic memories. Billy had very little happy memories and was also Max's only true protector. Although he wasn't a nice guy he still had good in his heart and died protecting El.

I think they did such a great job working the vecna story into what they have already established. Because they were asked in an interview if they knew the vecna 001 thing the whole time and they did not answer the question lol. So I think they didn't. I think it came later. But it works soooooo well with the other seasons! Especially Will saying he knows he thinks.

I like the detail of when the Physical form of the Mind Flayer grabs onto a persons face to turn them into the flayed, you can see the shadow like particles that the Mind Flayer was reduced to by the end of season 2 being injected into the victims face by it’s tentacles working as a sort of tube to feed itself into it’s victims kind of like how it possessed Will in Season 2.

It's honestly incredible how many good videos this channel features. I've yet to watch one I actively disliked. It must be hard to keep these videos at such a high quality. Thank you for putting the time, effort, and care into making sure we enjoy our time on this channel.

When I saw the Mind Flayer in the show, I thought of it like a slenderman, except during...that part and wills behavior afterwards. It seemed similar to a certain trauma and response to said trauma.

@@tazdivil6527 I mean that's what I got out of it, especially with the "I felt it everywhere...I can still feel it" and it's strategy to go after will, slow at first then more aggressive, and when told no...the attack happened. As someone who went through it, I saw a lot of similarities. Even with wanting to cut off support, and needing to "get the bad out" so it isn't controlling you anymore. Almost everything will does after the attack is like how the mind works after that type of attack.

Its hard to tell at this point, but I'm not super convinced on the strength Vecna and the Mind Flayer's relationship. It may have been a symbiotic one at first, with Vecna giving him a body in exchange for allowing Vecna to connect to the Upside-Down's hive mind, but I don't know if the Mind Flayer needs Vecna anymore. The main two reasons that the Mind Flayer relied on Vecna are pretty much gone now. Yes, he needed a form, but we know now that he can take other forms (i.e. possessed humans, flesh spider golems, infected demogorgons). Additionally, while the Mind Flayer needed Vecna to open the gates, now that Hawkins is basically an open wound into the Upside-Down, he has everything he needs to be fully independent from Vecna. I don't think would necessarily make them enemies, unless there's some sort of fundamental, ideological difference or mutually exclusive desire, but it certainly is interesting to think what could happen between them given the Mind Flayer's advantage.

Actually the reason will was so cold is because of Vecna which controls the mind flayer. In the episode “will the wise” Will says that a HE likes it cold. And in the vison of Henry (Vecna) we learn that he is basically a different breed of human. Still loved the video though.

I love Stranger Things I’ve been locked in since day 1. Might rewatch the whole series again. It’s been a pleasure watching it throughout the years. I’m convinced the 80s was lit even when these events were fictional.

You have to give credit to the people they choice to play each character, they nail it and you really get the 80s throwback vibes. Even if you didn't grow up in the states. The humour and horror balance out. But get darker each season as the main characters grow up. Because you start to see the world differently the older you get. Can't wait for an episode on Eddie Munson , person I think his name is a funny nod to Eddie Munster. (Lost boys the attack of Eddie munster)

I doubt the theory that it did something with her circulatory system because as seen in season 4,she does get her powers back and it's not due to any disease or "virus" as Owens called it in season 2, but a mind block. Most likely trauma. She has never been faced with losing something or someone before and this threat is so much bigger than anything she have faced. Sure Brenner caused her a lot of trauma with kidnapping her and frying her mom's brain, but remember that she was just a kid and despite being a powerful TK/telepath, she didn't have access to her memories as a child, so she didn't know better and the only trauma she had was likely with the experiments he did and the bullying from the other kids, until well, 001. But she easily handled that back then. But now, she has people she loves and cares about, a lot of them. And the Flayer is something so powerful that even she had difficulty fighting, unlike before that it took her what? A few seconds to kill the demogorgon in that school scene, then a few seconds or a minute to kill all the demodogs during the cabin scene. But this one, this flayer goop was different. She can split it, bang it to the wall all she wants, but it will not die. And it just gets stronger and stronger, add to it that she's a bit holding back since Billy is Max's brother. And yes she's holding back. Despite her blasting Billy onto walls and even through that brick wall, that's all and likely she knew that Billy was tougher and could handle that. Because if she wanted to, she could break his arm and legs like what he did to Mike's bully in the ravine or even split Billy in two like what she did to the flayer goop in the cabin. She now has a lot more to lose and that is somehow jamming her concentration even further. Until she finds out that "love" was the key to unlock her potential. I know i spoiled a lot already, but I'm leaving out how she got her powers back 😂

I think you now need to make a timeline of Vecna/001/Henry

[major spoilers for the part 2 of season 4] Seems like you'll have to update or change this video after the continuation of the season 4 because it seems like the mindflayer is not gone at all. I suppose only the clone mindflayer composed of the bodies of the flayed who transformed into goo was defeated. And the one who is made of shadows is still there and more dangerous than ever now that we know who he really is

A little snag though, it wasn't mike and lukas who stole the fireworks, it was technically lukas and Will since they were the ones in that fireworks scene in the store while Mike was busy floundering saying "i love you" to eleven

I have a theory that Matthew Modine could return in S5 in motion capture as The Mind Flayer’s Shadow Brenner form from Stranger Things VR (2024). Would be really cool. By the way, imagine in S5 if half of S5 The Mind Flayer takes the Shadow Brenner form, and the other half transforms into a humanoid version of its giant Shadow form with its flaming head and only slightly taller to Vecna’s height, and have two long humanoid arms as well. I can picture it in my head. Somebody should make fanart of that idea, and have a picture with it and Vecna side by side. This humanoid form of The Mind Flayer would also be a fun addition in S5. But yeah, I think it would be cool if Matthew Modine played Shadow Brenner by using motion capture technology.

The Mind Flayer looks like a monster from Resident Evil 5 called the U-8 where you needed to throw grenades in its mouth to destroy it's shell then shoot the fleshy parts.

I think the mind flayer will enter Hawkins and will be the final boss

as i see it when vecna isnt pulling a puppeteer the semi-sentient? i dont really know, but basically the mind flayer's main weakness is simply that its too revenge focused too the point it will forget its main goal just to kill anyone who angers it

So I don’t think it directly makes them stronger but acts more like an insane adrenaline rush since the mindflayer doesn’t really care if it’s host ends up beaten and broken since in the end they’re gonna be jelly for it anyway. Just seems that way since usually whenever a flayed character is doing wild feats of strength their veins go wild and bulge like their heart is pounding at 1000%

idk anything bout y'all but for me, the mind flayer is the most coolest character to me(no not the psychical one, the shadow one a.k.a the real mind flayer)

Let's keep in mind tho guys, this show was supposed to be called montauk. If you've ever researched the situation and their supposed mind control/remote viewing experiments on soldiers and children. So the portal/gate and el's remote viewing training and psykinetic powers are meant to be taken literally! 17:52 a small critique here, i’m not sure if i’m seeing things correctly but that is not a demowog, it’s a piece of flesh from the mind flayer and in the final battle you can see the same flesh going inside the mind flayer’s leg. Just a small clarification.

The mind flayer probably didn’t care for the physical well being of the host so use possibly 90-100% of the hosts true strength (Humans use only around 60%)

I'm still betting on El. Having had three knockdown drag-ass fights with the Mind Flayer and being wounded, she was shell-shocked. The Flayer didn't give her power to her (as it was such that released the demon in the first place), therefore it didn't take it away. It did know she didn't realize the extent of her powers and managed to use that against her. Given what's happened to her, having that type of power and being vulnerable is difficult to balance. By the time she regained her powers, notice how she became more lethal as evidenced by the chopper takedown? An argument can be made that El still doesn't realize how strong she is. The Mind Flayer dreads the day when she does, which will more than likely be revealed in Season 5.

I think the mind flayer is still about ending the world, but it knows it can't do that so long as eleven is around.

Since Far Cry 6 dlc set in present day, even when the final season comes out and Vecna gets defeated, The Upside Down will always exist. The Mind Flayer, even though currently is being influenced by Vecna, always has and always will be the brain of the hive mind. It’s the power source for the upside down dimension which remember is one giant Superorganism. By the way, Far Cry DLC looks cool! 😍

The Mind Flayer actually returns in the final scene of Stranger Things 4, where the gate to Upside Down have been opened and a big one at that. Will, who can still feel the MF's presence, has sensed that the shadowy creature has enter Hawkins, but sure I think Rocket League is good substitute. After all, Matt and Ross Duffer AKA The Duffer Brothers might claimed that RL is somehow related to the show

The Flayed are like a mix between The Thing’s Infected Hosts, Invasion of the Body Snatcher’s Dopplegangers, and Evil Dead’s Deadites. They even have wicked personalities like the Deadites (probably more in line with the versions from Evil Dead 2013 and Evil Dead Rise). Ash Williams would do quick work of the Flayed if he existed in the ST universe lol 💯 Imagine a crossover between Evil Dead and Stranger Things. 😍🥰 A limited animated mini series with Bruce Campbell voicing Ash going to Hawkins and encountering the Upside Down and it’s creatures and monsters would be pretty cool and…. GROOVY!!!!

Since vecna was in control of the mind flayer, when eleven accidentally let's the mind flayer into her own headspace via billy, billy tells her that they have been building something for her. Now that season 4 has been released when eleven is fighting vecna in v2 and he traps her he goes on to monologue about how he was trying to build some sort of empire for himself and for eleven to join him in the upside down. Also it's a reflection on how he first tried to convince her to become evil back when they fought at the lab

@@zombiekiller4313 vecna may not be able to possess people but when he kills people he doesn't only kill them but absorbs their very being everything about them present and future like Brenner says and even 001 says that the other children aren't completely gone they're in his mind which could also mean when the mind flayer says "we" could refer to vecna and the people he has consumed throughout time

you gotta remake this after season 4 ending, it completely changes things.

No it doesn't. If your trying to say that Vecna controls him he doesn't. They are both completely different entities that work together

@@scoposteve8470 not really. Vecna explains that he took control of the upside down and created the mind flayer to transcend his human form. If anything vecna flayed the mind flayer and became it. Like 11 says. "It was you this whole time " to which he nods in approval. And later Will also echos this to mike.

I love how Billy cries when the flayer invades her mind.

The Prequel Play The First Shadow and Stranger Things VR game both further expand on The Mind Flayer. The VR game especially has it meeting and interacting with Vecna (Henry Creel) for the first time directly when the latter was banished to the Upside Down. It tells him, “We’ve always been the dominant life form here and have consumed everything, but you are new material. We wish to study and experiment your capabilities.” Vecna at first doesn’t want to anything to do with the Flayer and doesn’t trust it, and he and it have a back and forth trying to conquer the other with Henry trying to take control of it and the mind flayer trying to take over him. Eventually, they later begin a symbiotic relationship with it giving him advice in his head how to maintain control over the Upside Down and it’s creatures and make the Demogorgons and demodogs kept obedient to them both. They share domain of the other dimension and are basically partners in crime because they both have similar goals of wanting to escape and take over Earth. But they have constant bickering and disagreements on how to do things, with Vecna more focused on murdering and destroying while The Mind Flayer is focused more on enslavement and devouring matter. Like an odd couple dynamic. Lol 🤭

If only you waited until the season 4 finale, you would be able to add a whole lot more information. For example, the slug was used by [SPOILER] to take her powers for themselves and even the mind flayer, itself, was created by [SPOILER].

So now that we know eleven created the upside down it makes more sense when billy/ the mind flayer says “we’ve been building this for you”. Obviously eleven doesn’t remember that right now but what if they look at her as their “master”. 2 more days guys until part 2!!

Man so many of you must not know how dimensions work

i cannot wait for more of these, such as vecna or eleven.

Dude, your video is the best to explaine the Mind Flayer, and don't have unfunny memes and the usual youtuber ego in it.

So i had something in my mind about Vecna and Mind Flayer are something that reminds of a soldier army. Basiclly Demogorgons and their species and others are soldiers, Mind Flayer is the General while Vecna is the Oversser. Also i think about Mind Flayer was sentient but imobile but when Henry came aka Vecna he shaped of his childhood drawing it making it able to move. Then they team up and started to make Upside Down more...living. Upside Down became the main base of the Mind Flayer and Vecna. Vecna was able to see through Mind Flayer's mind as i believe. So in Season 4 maybe after Vecna appered i think Mind Flayer already realised that Henry only wants World for himself. Maybe in Season 5 we will discover more about Mind Flayer and maybe he will be a good guy. Its just my thougths don't start to harras me.

I'm a DbD player (I miss Hawkins lab map). I've never watched stranger things, but I was aware of Nancy and Steve and how central they were to stranger things but I never knew Nancy was such a badass!
