Stranded in the Badlands

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This couple had ventured into an incredibly remote section of the southern Ochoco mountains where they were unable to climb a silt hill and slid backwards into a precious position. Luckily they had water, food, and enough supplies to spend a few days out there, but their vehicle was not up to the terrain. I hooked the TJ-6 up to them with a ‪@YankumRopes‬ and got them pulled to the top of the hill, then filled them up on gas and followed them back out to civilization

I'm no Casey, but I do what I can when I can. I came across a woman whose car was blocking the middle lane on a busy six-lane road at rush hour. I pulled around in front and as I got out a City cop pulled behind her. We all agreed that I would flat-tow her out of the intersection and into an empty parking lot while the cop blocked traffic with her lights. All went well and she got off the road safely without bumping my truck. Then she asked how much I owed for my service. I told her nothing and she said I need to pay something for my time. I told her I was glad to be of service and she should save her money for the tow truck and mechanic; she offered again. I told her I couldn't take her money because my mom could drive by and I wouldn't want to shame her. When she kept insisting on paying, I asked her what she did when her car wouldn't start. She said, "I prayed for help." "How much could I charge if I am an answer to your prayer?" That's payment enough.

I can tell how far out in the middle of nowhere you were from how quiet the background noise is, just you or the customers talking or engine noise, and how little surrounding light there was. I’m sure they were happy to see you drive up!
