I know it's satire, but... This response was so unnecessary. The group of guys who are responding weren't the target for the original video- these guys already supported gay marriage! Great! The message wasn't for you then. This response, created in the same fashion as the first, just seems like it was to make fun of the first for no real reason. And... all women are closet lesbians? Okay, but the "Gay Men Will Marry Your Girlfriends" video was aimed towards homophobic people in an effort to speed up the process of same-sex marriage being legalized, and was in no way spiteful. This video, however, is a poor attempt at satire and is both very misogynist and overly offensive. “Omg, so hypocritical!!!!1!! Why can one exist but not the other you hypocrite!” (Yes, you do sound like that.) Well, as I already stated, the other video did not focus on demeaning anyone while that was seemingly all this video did. It’s not that we “hate all straight people”or “think all straight people are the enemy”, it’s just that this video was not a well executed response. I’m sure there could have been a way to create this video that did not involve degrading women, and thus fourth, is horrible. I am not a hypocrite for stating this and neither is anyone else who also gave a similar argument. (P.S. If you disagree about the clear fact that this video is misogynistic, I will fight you. I'd rather not fight you, but I certainly disagree. This one plays into straight stereotypes that are inaccurate, that's kind of the point. It wasnt as funny as the other one but it had its moments. Saying we're awesome had me rolling, I'm a straight man and that cockiness and arrogance is pretty spot on, I can laugh at myself and I'm definitely a cocky prick at times. Or the fact that the guy who flexes while talking about how women love a man who will protect them looks to be about a buck forty made me chuckle. And frankly implying that all straight men get into bar fights, watch sports and grill steak is just as ridiculous as the gay stereotypes in the other one. At the end of the day, they're both silly if you actually take them at face value. Do straight guys really want someone else to marry their girlfriends? Of course not, if we truly wanted to be, single then we would be. Do gay guys actually want to marry girls in an effort to strong arm political action? Of course not. They want to marry the people that they love, and should have the legal right to do so. Both sketches are just comedic takes on a serious legal and social issue. Which is what makes them funny.

Patinia I didn't say triggered, but I seriously want people to calm down. She wrote a whole paragraph about these guys, and the video is a joke. It might be a stupid joke, and I agree, it was a stupid joke, but it is still a joke. A joke to make people like her mad. As I said I respect women, but I also have a sense of humor.

If the genders of this video were switched no one would say shit. The 'sorry' video they made that made straight guys look like idiots was loved. Hey, bro, I didn't have a problem with the video, but is definitely full of misogynistic ideas. The use of sluts in reference to chicks. Implying that the reason these guys wont marry their girls is because there is something inherently wrong with females in general. Portraying woman as beings desperate for marriage. The 'desperation' aspect in and of itself is rude yo. Like all chicks don't know any better. I'm just saying... (and there's heaps more, but they're kinda hard to explain. It's the overall tone that's pissing females off I think)

2ndStoreyStairwells I appreciate the civilized reply. This is the internet so you usually expect stupidity. After rereading my post it came off kind of angrier than I thought. I just hate hypocrisy. It just pissed me off that they had to make a video essentially apologizing for a comedy skit. The definition of misogyny that I learned was "the hatred and contempt of women". There's a video of Sharon Osbourne making jokes about a man being restrained and castrated. Every woman in the audience laughed about it. I remember late night hosts making jokes about a man being run over multiple time by his wife while their child was in the car. THAT'S hate. Sluts exist. Women get an attitude about the word until their man(or woman) is w/ another woman then they have no problem using it. There are some women who get offended by the word chicks. Men complain about women. Women complain about men. The difference is there are women who evidently feel they are royalty above any kind of scrutiny or judgement, even in jest. You can tell these guys aren't being malicious when they speak. As far as the women desperate to get married thing, it's mostly true. There's NO benefit for a man to get married. Men are usually called commitment phobic because they won't spend their salary on a shiny rock or go into debt for one day of celebration. How often do you hear about a woman being pressured into getting married by a man? There's a show called Bridezilla you should check it out. It might change your perspective. I think it's on Netflix but I'm not sure.

You just generalised a WHOLE gender based on possible experiences, what you've seen on tv and how society portrays them. Men used to need a wife to keep their image within society and to produce offspring to carry on their name, but marriage didn't mean they had to be exclusive. Everything was win win if you're a guy back in the day. You can't really play around without getting called on it anymore, and so it seems like its no longer worth it. Just because our world is still telling woman to aspire to marriage, doesn't mean they are desperate or even want it, really. Theyre just made to feel like there is something wrong with them if they can't find someone to put a ring on it by the time theyre 40. But whos fault is that? The woman for feeling like that, or everyone (themselves included) for MAKING them feel like that?

Hey 2SS. I like conversing w/ intelligent people on subjects that concern me or draw my interest. It allows me to learn, expand my views and become enlightened. I feel that I need to elaborate on MY views in regards to generalizations. I can only go on my experiences in life. The things in my life that I have seen, heard or lived. We all make generalizations. As far as I remember I never said all in my posts. Not using % or the words many, some or mostly doesn't automatically mean all. If it does then you made generalizations on both genders in your reply. There is a difference between race and gender. I could go to any populated place on the planet and depending on where I am could be the only person of my ethnicity in a neighborhood/city/state or even country. There is no place I could go and be the only female or male. I sadly noticed a familiar theme in the 2nd half of your post. I don't see this happening in a western society. How often did this happen between 2 poor families? A woman was used to join powerful families, carry on a bloodline or elevate a family's station in society. Was the woman property in this world? Yes, but not like a goat. She was more like a valuable asset. Of course there are abusive relationships in these situations. Those in a position to harm more than likely will. Generally speaking a woman goes from being taken care of by her father to being taken care of by her husband. She gets a house she didn't pay for. She has to keep the home clean and be the primary caregiver to the children and husband. The husband has to maintain the home in working order, provide for and protect everyone in the home even if it means death. The children have to take care of her if her health fails when they reach adulthood. I don't see a winner here. Everyone has their part to play. There are + and - w/ everyone involved.

First off, it doesn't have anything to do with husbands, it has to do with boyfriends. Secondly, unless YOUR boyfriend was in this video telling everyone he has no intention to marry you, you have no reason to be upset, or yes, as I like to call it, butthurt, all puns intended. These few men are not a representation of all men nor is this insulting in the least. You can only be insulted by what is either actually true about you or what you allow yourself to be butthurt about when it's not true. If you want to give other people power over your life like that go ahead, but I will not. In the end this video was nothing more than a few straight guys saying they ARE in support of gay marriage and jokingly, that if they needed to marry their girlfriends in order to make it happen, then that would be fine by them. This video is really close-minded and sexist towards men and I feel bad about straight guys because of stereotypes like these that our society allows to happen. There are plenty of straight guys who enjoy cooking or going to shows and working out and there are plenty of gay men who love football and grilling outside. There are many emotionally needy straight men and emotionally vacant gay men. Sexuality is not a personality type, its who you wish to have sex with.. that's it.

Nice idea for a video but it was executed poorly and ended up coming off as mean and hateful towards women :/

I'm a gay man and I just want to say that this was hilarious and people need to chill. Also, you guys are hot.

There are two things that girls need to accept are true: you DO want a man who can protect you, and we aren't going to be intimidated by a flamboyant homosexual. At the end of the day, here's something I think (not I KNOW, so calm down) everyone blowing up about this video has to realize: First, these guys are probably in their 20s. They shouldn't want to get married until they have their adulthood well-established and are self sufficient enough to share their life with someone, regardless of who the primary provider in the relationship is (and to raise a kid).; and secondly, one of the biggest parts of being in a relationship is spending time with one another-- otherwise, there's no potential for the relationship to grow. That being said, there isn't any reason for this video to be interpreted any more heavily than as a parody. It was a video response to a CollegeHumor video. COLLEGEHUMOR. This is a "you-gotta-laugh-at-yourself" video for the male stereotype. I'm sure most viewers of this video are aware that acting like as big of a douchebag as any of these guys will get a man absolutely nowhere in life and be the cause of them dying alone. Some guys are smart enough to know when to get their acts together.

I am a gay man and I find nothing wrong with this. I don't see this as offensive to anyone really. This is obviously just poking fun at various stereotypes. But of course in this society, everyone views something like this as being literal and feels so morally obligated to spout their superior judgement. The "Gay Men Will Marry Your Girlfriends" video was doing the same exact thing this video is doing, poking fun at stereotypes and it gave me a good laugh, just like this video did.
