I really like this method instead of a chain 2 or 3. Thank you, Tuula! And the scenery was a bonus!

Hello Tuula! Thank you for the video. I’ve been using the stacked single crochet for a little over a year and really like the way it looks. Like you, I like the ease of crocheting into it as opposed to a chain. Your tip on matching to a half double row is new to me and I’ll be using that the next time I am using half doubles in a project. It never fails that you have a tip I can use!

Lovely, I'm sure it will work well for you!
In my last project, which was in mesh, I actually did this at the beginning of the rows AND did the other method at the end

Thank you so much, happy to hear! All the best!
Thank you! I was struggling on a shawl I’m working on. Pattern said to chain 2 and turn and I didn’t like the way it looked when I added a DC into the same stitch. This is the perfect fix!

Well...that is something! I have 3 WIPs (who doesn't ?? lol) which are too far along to frog, but, I am trying this on my next new project. Thanks for another great stitch idea.

Wow, this looks so easy! I think I might also prefer your linked method, but this seems so simple. And thank you for sharing the scenery. One of my favorite outdoor places is a wooded path by a lake, the gentle sound of water and leaves. ❤

Thank you! I really love that walk the clips were from, there are rarely other people there at the same time and the nature is so peaceful!
❤❤❤ Thank you very much for the tips, cannot wait to try them out. Btw that tiny "stretch the yarn/ stitch" is genius! It's so helpful.

Thank you! There are so many little tricks in crochet that are never written in patterns because they would get too long to explain! 😀
I always enjoy your tutorials, Tuula, and again you fail to disappoint! While I've done the stacked SC for a chain sub for DC and TC I've never done the HDC this way and I surely will now. Thank you for this!

This way works in any yarn, from fingering to bulky, just need to check that your hook goes with the yarn you have. The yarn I'm using for the demonstration is worsted weight wool hook is 4 mm.
