    Hello Tuula. I found this video very interesting. I didn't realise KZread gave you so many statistics. I always watch all of your videos, as they are interesting as well as informative, some I rewatch to see how you are doing something. Its also nice to see where you live and visit, I also like listening to your accent. Thank you for all you do for us crocheters. 🧶

    Thank you so much! Glad you like my accent and don't mind it! It is amazing how many statistics KZread gives, you can go on and on deeper in every detail. Like about areas where people watch from, down to main cities in many countries, age groups, how people found the video and how many people exactly drop off a video at a certain second etc etc.

    Morning, Miss Tuula! What an INTERESTING bit of data! I typically slow the speed of the video & pause frequently, if I’m watching for instructions/tutorial or taking notes. I’m glad to learn about how important those first 30 seconds are! Thank you so much for sharing with us! I hope you have a sunny week! We have green on our trees here, at last ☺️🫶🏻🧶 xx-Lisa

    Thank you Lisa, glad you found it interesting! Fortunately videos are easy to stop and rewind and change the speed! Yes, I think most people don't know about the 30 seconds. I try never to click off a video before the 30 seconds are done, even if I'm not going to watch it (unless it is someone who already has millions of views, then it doesn't matter!). Glad you have green we are still waiting for that but not long now!

    I have rewatched your C2C shawl video several times. I’ve tried to follow other crocheters shawl patterns (written), but they are too complicated to follow. So, here one again I come to watch the beginning of your video. It doesn’t take me long to remember the steps, and your instructions are clear. Some designers assume too much, and I’ve discovered I’m a visual learner! I’ve made the shawl five times since the beginning of the year! I wouldn’t normally watch a technical video such as the one you published here, but I enjoy your take on things in general so I always try to watch. I’m part Finnish (Swedish and Norwegian too) so your way of teaching seems the most natural to me. Hope this helps.

    I usually watch videos from the beginning all the way to the end. The main exception is if it's a tutorial I am following along/doing, I'll pause and rewind as needed. I know now I can change the speed, but I get less anxious if I pause to catch up/finish the round/row at my pace, then continuing.

    I usually always watch your videos through to the end. There may be parts I wish to view again, but I will generally always do that afterward. I find it odd that people leave off early. One ought to give a creator the courtesy of a hearing. Besides, your videos are seldom so long as to strain the attention span of anyone but the most impatient! You are generally always direct, clear & to the point. So is your crochet! Thank you for the work you put into your channel.

I rather knit more and know little about crocheting, and I watched lots of your videos and know that I can find right answers to my questions in your tutorials. I am surprised if the reason for the drop of Christmas tree video is because you are giving an alternative simultaneously, I mean, when it is something as simple as telling you can do a chain and single crochet instead. Such thing never put me off as a beginner or a little more experienced crocheter. I am also surprised about the 10 seconds, I thought it was at least 50%. But I'm pleased it's only seconds, because I often start watching a video, knowing I haven't got the time to watch it all - but now I can find it again in my 'Recently watched' list. My Watch it later list is toi long now to be useful any more.

  • @TuulaMaaria

    @TuulaMaaria

    2 ай бұрын

    Yes, I was just guessing about that Christmas tree video but the drop is surprising. The important bit is 30 seconds from the star. But the longer people watch, the better. The goal of course is that a majority would watch the whole video. That works in some types of videos but not in tutorials.

    I don't like bringing up other content creators but just this once I'm going to. When YT changed how they did ads, some tutorials/videos were intolerable to watch. Craig from Fiber Spider was trying to fix his videos as it was a huge problem with a gazillion ads. In order to help him (and others I watch) out when I wanted to follow a tutorial, I'd let the video play through with all ads while I did something else. Then went back & watched & paused & rewinded/fast-forwarded as much as I needed to as well as skipping ads that were too long or too upsetting (sadly I sometimes have to skip ads that are too upsetting on first watches for short videos but try & play the video again later hoping for a better ad)

  • @TuulaMaaria

    @TuulaMaaria

    2 ай бұрын

    That is a great idea to let a video run through first. Various youtubers make different choices as to what types of ads they allow. I have blocked out any to do with gambling of any kind as well as fast high-interest loans and a few other categories. I would get more income if I allowed those but I just don't want my audience to get those.

    Fascinating! I tend to rewatch videos so i can mimic the steps and actions needed to create the crochet piece showcased in the video. Good thing my tetchy verbal responces aren't reported to creators!😂 Multiple choices can sometimes work for me provided they are simple and only at starting the project ie working into the 3rd chained stitch as opposed to a chained ring but this has to do with reducing bulk in my miniature projects or ease of seeing what i am doing. (Must say that i am mildly annoyed that KZread didn't present yr magic-ring video in my search six months ago.)

    That is something KZread doesn't do yet, listen to what people say while watching! 😄 Would be scary if it did! Miniature projects probably require some things to be done differently, I have only made some earrings in sewing thread. I suppose it's a bit hit and miss whose video YT show in search results if there are lots of videos with the same or almost same title.
