Thank you for sharing! Mine is I always had "Samantha Learns A Lesson" book and subscription to the AG magazine, but never had a doll as a kid growing up. My family are historical reenactors though... I reenact 1790s-1813, so I was drawn to Felicity and Caroline's stories and clothes. I have 6 historical girls (Samantha Felicity are my 1990's dolls, Rebecca, Caroline, Maryellen, and Kit) and one modern girl Lea Clark. As of right now I consider my collection complete unless they release another historical that speaks to me. My daugher is 8 yrs old and we like taking our dolls to historical locations and taking pictures and doll teas. She had an AG themed birthday party at a local tea house and the girls were encouraged to bring any doll or stuffed animal to tea!

@DisBlaine She has new Samantha (I wanted her to have her childhood version of her) and TM 88 that she got for that birthday because I got it half off due to being discontinued for 129(?). She has some MyLife dolls she's allowed to do whatever with.

I spent a lot of my younger years in and out of homelessness thanks for sharing your experience. I think too many don't understand how common of an issue it is.

@@kerrysmiles definitely common! I ended up going to a youth shelter at 16 (and later on a group home), so I saw SO MANY unhomed youth come and go over those 6 months!

My wife and I became homeless twice. Because we trusted the wrong people and I've just let it go as that. But lucky thing. We were living out of our car with 4 dogs. They're tiny ones. Thank God but when I had my dolls they help me escape the situation. I was in. I could think of back stories and I could play with them and I had Spin master. liv dolls Katie, I got her in a thrift store with some wings she was my favorite. I came up with so many different stories for different wigs that I should wear.

Oh no, twice?? Sad to hear but it’s amazing you bounced back from it. And I can relate to the escape dolls are from bad times - they’re also great companions for good times. I’m glad you’re doing better! And yes there’s no point holding on to resentment. It’s just poison.

It's so interesting hearing you talk about your life. I often ask myself what it is that makes me love, obsess about, and collect dolls. I agree with you that it brings back comfort, and innocence, and good memories. I love your little Cabbage Patch doll, and your tiny Care-bear, and what they mean to you. I bought the Barbie Styling Head for my Julie, because I had it as a kid and loved it. If I could have chosen a Truly Me when I was a child, (had they existed then) I would have wanted one with Asian features, because that is what I thought was the most beautiful thing in the world!😊 Thank you for sharing.❤

I love the crossover, which is why I preordered the LE Barbie coming in November . That’s what I love about collecting now - not just as an adult with my own money but because there are so many different looking dolls. 🥳

I’m left handed too! The Tom’s bag and the little cabbage patch kid are soo cute!! 🥰 I loved this talk, thank you for sharing more of your life with us! I really relate to “remembering how it felt” and wanting to be a comfort to kids in our everyday life. It’s always confused me how fellow adults seem to forget how things seem and feel from a child’s perspective! 🫶🏻😅 I try to be the adult I wish I had in my life to my nieces and nephew. I have these dolls but my other love is Liddle kiddles by Mattel if you are familiar with them. My family know my love for toys it is my world of comfort and yours too.

But, this gets a little dark, when they ran the storyboards by a focus group of black Americans, they suggested changing the name because it sounded to similar to mammy (a racist character type in characters around the time the movie takes place). lol I’m sure you didn’t stop by for that but I’m pretty much a PatF encyclopedia at this point. Hi Blaine I haven't watched your vids on the PC but have watched on my TV cause I was under the weather. I can finally get on my PC and thank you for all the recent great vids you have. With Elizabeths Hat on Felicity it takes some practice, I had to look at pics. and in some cases they wore a mob cap under the hat because when they took off the hat the mob cap remained even in doors. Not sure if it was the case with this outfit but I wat Historical docs movies and love old books so that's where some of my info comes from. Cant wait for the nest video! Is Mary Elles Dinner ready?

@@Alixthecollector that means a lot to me for a couple reasons. First, Kristie is the first and closest friend I’ve made on AGTube, so I love when we’re associated. Second, there’s no doubt in my mind when people see my videos, they should see anyone can do this! Also, it’s a lot of fun lol. Sure I was nervous and a mess in the beginning, but I don’t think anyone else would be to that extent lol.

@@kerrysmiles it’s a bit tricky buying from her. She makes batches of outfits (whatever she feels like, no requests) and then posts them in AG FB groups, both Canadian and American. Whoever comments SOLD first gets whatever outfit(s) they claimed. It took me a LONG time to claim an Oshkosh outfit fast enough. I want one more someday, a boy Oshkosh set.
