After an unexpected week off, Dutch will dedicate an entire episode to catch up on the wrestling news from the past couple of weeks. First Dutch will talk about his memories of Tom Seigler and "Exotic" Adrian Street who sadly passed recently. Then some views are shared about a certain other podcast host before Dutch discusses if or not AEW is second to WWE and what that means for wrestling, Vince McMahon in hot water with the federal government (again) and can kayfabe still exist in 2023? Bret Hart turned down by AEW, The Elite on their new contracts and Ryback vs Booker T all discussed this week on Story Time with Dutch Mantell. ENJOY!

The rape accusation problem in the US is that a person is supposed to be presumed innocent until proven guilty, yet when a university or company suspends someone over an accusation , they are making them guilty until proven innocent. The action of the university or company casts a shadow that doesn't go away even if the accusations are proven false or don't lead to a criminal charge. The actions of a university or company heavily influence public opinion as well, which makes a fare trial and impartial jury difficult to afford the accused.

The rape problem here is that you are NOT looked at as innocent until proven guilty in the eye of the public. As soon as the words, "they raped me" comes out of a woman's mouth, 8 out of 10 people now look at that person as a rapist until proven innocent and a few still won't. Even false accusation and arrest can pretty much be a life long thing that you'd have to deal with in some manner.

I've always gotten a "lights are on but nobody's home" kinda vibe from him. Vacant. Dude needs to be EVALUATED at the least. James lit him up pretty good...I'm surprised he didn't know. There is a wait of supposedly 2 or so months but we all know how that goes, a price of a hundred or so bucks, and depending on the license he woulda had to go to a 4-5 hour class. Beyond that I can't really get into specifics cause I ain't ever legally owned a gun here, and I ain't ever gonna go through the hoops to try... Despite not really knowing what those hoops even are. I think that sentiment right there is what makes Canadian gun laws "effective". Most people who think it's impossible to own them probably hasn't even tried. The propaganda of how hard our guns are to get up here is more effective gun control than the actual laws.

When it comes to second generation talents getting privileged opportunities, the way I look at is people like Rick Steiner paid their dues and earned enough respect that the courtesy given to their children is not for the children themselves but in homage to the parent and at this point the offspring now has a extra special opportunity to make something of themselves and it's up to them to took the most advantage of it because if they fall short then they should be governed by their own merits. That initial courtesy shouldn't be carried over the rest of their careers and therefore if they can't stand on their own after a foot up then the cards fall where they may. But the first special treatment is more in honor of their elders achievements in the business. In reality it is not fair for someone to get special treatment because of a name and nothing else but anyone who honors tradition should not be offended by such a jesture. If you were a music teacher or something and you couldn't take on anymore students but suddenly your favorite star came to you and asked you to take on their son would you make a exemption and teach them. It's like police, in civilized society it not uncommon for businesses not to charge police officers or fire fighters for their services if you are are talking about a dinner or coffee shop, obviously a roofer or something like that isn't going to do a job for free. It's extending a courtesy to the veterans who paid their dues by recognizing their achievements in their name their children. Because you are the son of so and so I'm going to give you a opportunity but if you don't pull through your getting the same treatment as the next man

It’s true. That no wrestler every got hep c from the butcher. Others than self respecting Hannibal Any one wishing a slow painful death is not normal. Every match with the butcher was a blood bath. No one in wrestling should be alive today who faced the butcher. Bs on Hannibal

I could not agree more with James when it comes to Hannibal. He's a third rate wrestler, fourth rate interviewer and just garbage human being. I like wrestling shows so I listened to a handful of his interviews and just couldn't take how bad they were: He has a manner and way of doing things that lead you to believe he's trying to be exploitative rather than informative when it comes to his guests. I was never a fan of the Abdullah style blood baths, but I find it 100% believable that Hannibal asked him to cut him. He's just crap...James and Dutch do a great job so I wish them nothing but success

I'm glad he didn't tag me with that racket. He was beet red and cussing us for all we were worth. I love the dude now...but he most definitely knew how to catch major heat

Its hard to be boring as Hannibal and yet so shady at the same time with his criminal activity as well as other things he has been involved in. Doesn't he spend his time slagging off Jim Cornette and Kevin Owens (I.e more successful podcasters and wrestlers, convenient?) Abdullah is a questionable human being but so is Devon. James is a breath of fresh air compared to him.

I can't stand Hannibal's interviews. And it sucks because he often has guys on that I'd like to hear talk. Obviously, I hate his monotonous voice like everyone. But my real issue with his interview is, he will ask a question, and whether or not he gets an answer, he immediately goes on to the next question. There is almost never any sort of follow up. Doesn't matter what the person says. It's like he's written down all his questions and is absolutely incapable of deviating from that list, AT ALL. Not being able to think on your feet, even in the lowest stakes situation, is a really good sign that he maybe wouldn't be the best wrestler in the world, haha.

Butcher tested positive for hep C. If you’re gonna talk about something do your research. Disappointing. And yes he defeated many older stars in his wrestling promotion but he also lost to many. James is talking shit about someone he never has met. Making fun of the way he talks. My guess is he wouldn’t say that to his face. James needs to stick to his usual stick.

Why so much hatred for Hannibal, James? Sounds like you have some major jealousy of him. You clearly dont know enough about the Hep. C ordeal between the two of them, to be making assumptions on whether or not Abby gave it to him or not. You make it sound like he's lying about it. I'd like to you see you face to face with him, and be condescending the way you are here. It wouldnt turn out well for you at all.
