NEW T SHIRT: You People? Mean NOTHING To Me! OUT NOW: my-store-d8f220.creator-sprin...
"Dirty" Dutch Mantell is hosting a very special guest this week. A man he holds in very high regard. Former WWE Money in the Bank briefcase holder, Damien Sandow. Now known in NWA as Aron "The Idol" Stevens, he and Dutch take some time to catch up and discuss, among many other things; the importance of respecting senior talent as a young up and coming superstar, the chaos of working in Puerto Rico, OVW, Jim Cornette and Paul Heyman, Billy Corgan and the NWA, tagging with Cody Rhodes, developing The Miz-stunt double character on the fly, Kenny Bolin's entrepreneurial ways, never politicking with Vince McMahon, Victor Jovica impressions, developing the "Intellectual Saviour" character,a tribute to Josephus AKA The Question Mark and, of course, the stories about the people that have influenced their careers over the years.

@@saj8 maybe it was TNA was just mediocre. Him and the Miz drew me back into wrestling in the 2010's after not watching for a decade. He was great as Sandow and Mizdow. There was much more he could've done there. But like WWE usually does they bury and misuse talent like Chad Gable,Dolph Ziggler, Shelton Benjamin, Claudio,Cody Rhodes back in the day, Bray Wyatt etc etc.

Every Aron Stevens interview I see, he just seems like one of the nicest, down to earth wrestlers. As one other commenter said (probably numerous, actually), WWE really blew it with this guy. Sure, he's not the first they mishandled as I'm sure a lot of us can name 10 or more, but he's in the top list for me. Everything WWE threw at him, even if it was junk at first, he made it work.

Sensei Question was the reason that Aron has continued to work with Wrestling. Aron stated that he was DONE with wrestling, and had started acting on TV. NWA called, and he figured he'd just give it a chance. His friendship with Joseph "Question Mark" Hudson was cited as the reason he's still at it now. The fans LOVED Sensei Question, and let Aron really be the bad guy. So much fun.

17:00 - Dutch is mixing two characters here. Mr. Peanut (Planters) has always had a monocle. Mr. Pennybags (Monopoly) has never had a monocle. Due to the top hat, many people have associated one character's traits with the other, and so there's a strong belief that both characters have always had a monocle.

Thanks for this great interview with Aron Stevens. I've been waiting for Dutch to talk about Joseph Hudson and seeing him do it with Aron is something special. The pre-covid days of NWA were so magical, and the talents of Joseph and Aron was a huge part of that. Dutch, I hope in time you can talk more about mentoring Joseph and his early days in wrestling. I ran across some videos of you guys wrestling at the Stadium Inn and would love to hear more about those days.

It's sadly true that Bolin and Cornette are people who are easy to hate, even if you want to like them. I got the impression more or less first handed. Bakc then I watched a wrestling related youtuber, I was also in contact with by twitter (as "X" was called back then) and e-mail. And it's already difficult for someone who has not really a name in the wrestling industry and is not a sports journalist, to get known wrestlers or wrestling promoters on your show. But he managed to get Cornette AND Bolin for an Interview. And it was a great interview. Every seemed to have a good time they could advertise stuff they sold, which especialy Bolin did. And it looked liked they might come back to do some more episodes together. But then out of the blue Bolin and Cornette started to talk bad about that youtuber. Cornette said stuff that wasn't even true, like that youtuber lifes in his mothers house, in the basement, while the truth was that the guy had a house, wife and kids. I wrote him an e-mail asking why Cornette and Bolin started to talk BS about him if it is a work or something. He replied that he has no clue, but takes that as advertisement for his channel, but other than that he thought it was not cool. But at least it got him some subs and views, and everyone who jumped over because of that bad mouthing could find out in an instant that Cornette's and Bolin's stories about that guy are not true. IDK if it was intended to be a work, but I say even if so, it was not funny as it came without any obvious reason.

You're such an idiot. We gave the people what they wanted and I made a tidy profit off from it. He forgot to mention that we put two tickets in the overalls of my brother's stepdads pocket. Now does that make you feel a little better? I thought it would

Sandow doesn't watch WWE bc he knows it just brings back memories to when he was actually somebody in the wrestling business. Now a days he could walk through the airport and not a single person would look at him.

Maybe Jungle Boy had a bad flight, or the hotel f'd up his room... granted that doesn't excuse him being a dork during a convention, but still.. i dont think he need to be getting as much heat as he is for being in a bad mood one time.

The only people I’ve seen make a big deal about Jungle Boy is Cornette and James. Had it really been as bad as they’re saying it was it would’ve been all over twitter. Wrestling media for you as usual, over exaggerating and trying to get clicks.

@@playboy_x well, I guess that depends on what you mean by “all over Twitter” .. I mean people are talking about it… he acknowledged it… Let’s not pretend like everything was rainbows and butterflies, or that people are just making it up.

Aaron just nailed it on how those aew idiots don't need advice! Some of those legends have been on shows that got 8-9 million viewers! Aew has never or will ever see that! So go ahead and be fine with being no.2! Stop acting like you've won some fake ass ratings war! Believe me WWE is NOT concerned with aew.
