I’ve been trying to get back into creative writing for a little while now. As motivation, I decided to read one of my old short stories I wrote back in 2015 (not 2017 lol), called The Beautiful Literal Truth. I wrote it during my first visit to the UK. I was travelling solo and had a few spare hours in a motel to get down a few ideas, which developed over a day or so.
Short stories can be a lot of fun to write because of how quickly the idea goes from thought to reality. There's also a unity and flow of thought due to how quickly they are written.
I'm hoping to write a few more short stories in the near future and potentially turn them into a collection.
