Drama: *Story of Kunning Palace* (Chinese) 2023 Where to Watch: iQiyi Song: “Everything” by SMNM Bai Lu and Zhang Linghe delivered great performances in this political costume drama. I find this to be one of the best costume drama this year. The character growth of each character is beautifully shown here. The story and chemistry between the main leads were great. You can feel the tension between them. It took awhile for the main leads to get together, but once they do it’s EXPLOSIVE! I enjoyed Zhang Linghe in this dark character role and wouldn’t mind seeing him in similar grey roles in the future.

It was a good drama, but their romance doesn’t start until like 30 episode, the slowest slow burn I’ve seen. But damn their chemistry is 🔥🔥. You should do dream of splendor and love like the galaxy 🎉

SOKP is different type of historical thats why u says slow-burn.. It suits the story and the title its very pre-historic material and yet u compare this to LOVE LIKE A GALAXY which that FL is abit childish and ML there shouldn't act skinship that much but then realise LLAG is just a costume type of drama which doesn't depict what REALISTIC HISTORICAL like what SOKP did... Safe to say SOKP is different type of historical its something that u will believe if ur in history class... BTW SOKP novel it's very dark than what u saw on DRAMA thats why they add a bit fantasy Imagination were u could think it was frm a writer pov but deep down its a forbidden historical story.

@@strawberyshortcakefr recommend "ONE and ONLY" one of the best historical Cdrama in Cdramaland... _ LLAG is too much childish to me for my liking. I mean atleast gave me some decency where lad and milady act matured of what was a historical character should depict..

Their amazing chemistry grabbed my attention from the very first episode. I hope they'll work again together as the main leads in another series. Your FMVs are always so well done. The way you summerise and edit these videos are just a delight of entertainment for the fans to relive their favourite series 💝 I wish you a wonderful end of the year 💕

love our work, you did an excellent job, thank you.. that guy was not a good match her, she likes to play games wth people n test people, he thinks everything can only go into 2 boxes which he labeled good n bad which is false life is not that simple she was looking at him through rose-colored glasses, falsely labeling him as gold when he's copper. even his teacher thought he was foolish. it's interesting that the things she called him were all untrue n others could said of er past. he took the empro set from her to save her but she misunderstood. he didnt take the seat until she came to him n asked for help n they bc lovers, but she thought he want power but he took the seat to save her n he sent her the knife to protect herself not to ill herself, she realize she missed judged him toward the end.

@@abcdexu it’s called 坤宁 (Kun Ning)， author is 时镜 (Shi Jing). Yes some part of the story is very different in the book. I’m still reading it :) I’m not sure if there is an English version… you may have to google around.

I personally liked this drama and the cast. It has a dark, slow-burn romance between the main leads. Also, it has a happy ending when compared to My Journey To You (which had an open ending).

Xie Wei sent her a dagger in her previous life when she was imprisoned in her palace. She took it to mean that he wanted her to kill herself so she begged him to exchange her life for Zhang zhe since he'd been sentenced to death. Xiewei agreed so she did it since they already told her she has to die for the previous emperor. She felt indebted to Zhang Zhe for what she did to him.

I interrupt that she had misunderstood Xie Wei in the previous life when he gave her the dagger. It could've been a form of protection for herself rather than killing herself (as she misunderstood his intention). But this is just my opinion and I could be wrong.😅
