The (Hanging Amihan)Northeast monsoon still blows the Philippines right now. This results to a colder climate and cloudier skies in my country. I don't know why but I really love this kind of weather. During these days, I love going to my garden to plant vegetables because the sun is out and the weather is cold.....but not too cold. Today, I planted pechay in my garden. I put compost to the vegetable bed first to grow the pechay healthy even without synthetic fertilizers. I also harvested pigeon peas or kardis in our local language and also picked luffa squash (kabatiti) and bitter gourd (parya) for dinner. I cooked pinakbet and sauteed luffa squash with pigeon peas and sotanghon for the whole family! 'Maykayon, manganen!
