Would it be possible to do an in depth video of how to properly use a hard drive for film photographers? I’ve recently started scanning negatives myself and am finding my computer (MacBook air) going slightly slower each roll I scan. I definitely need a hard drive but I have no clue where to start 🙉

You need off-site backup too. House fires/floods happen! Also, 2 backups means that when one fails, then you only have 1 copy. 2 = 1 = None! 3 Backups minimum.

Hey! You have a really pro style! Good videos! Question 1: Do you not trust cloud services? Question 2: What really goes into the pricing of cameras? I'm trying to get into it, but the entrance fee for non film camera is expensive!

So the cloud services are good but expensive, it racks up over time especially if your data gets bigger and bigger. As for cameras, there are a ton of factors. A lot of film people like to go with fuji because they have film simulation features on their cameras and the colors reflect that. They have some cheaper ones to grab like the 100f or 100v. A lot of people love those. If you are trying to dive into pro work, the xt3 and xt4 with some prime lenses really is t that expensive for the quality. The canon r and the Sony a7riii are great too. I would skip the “entry” level cameras and go for a moderate camera like those. Because you want a nice sensor 24mpx or more, you want nice colors which Fuji and canon have and Sony isn’t bad if you know how to work with it. And then you want redundant backup card slots. The prices are worth it. Expect to pay 1500ish for the body. And buy at least 1 good lens with it. A 50mm is a good start (or for Fuji since it is a smaller sensor a 35mm)

@@film_friends Thank you for the quick answer! I don't want to go pro or anything, i"m studying psychology after all 😂. I just want to have full control of what i want in a shot with good colors. Thanks anyways!! Have a good week.
