You're great!! 50 years of crocheting, and I've never seen this! I absolutely love how younger people like you have modernized the craft! So fresh and fun! Thank you ❤

Does this work for c2c crochet
OK, this is really awesome. I’m perfectly OK with with tiny knot - that’s so much better than weaving in dozens of ends!

My thoughts exactly!
I've been knitting and crocheting for YEARS. This is my first lacey project and I've been trying to figure out how to weave in tails when I add my new skein. I will ABSOLUTELY take a teeny little knot if it means I don't have to do my least favorite part.
OMG!!! where have you been all my life, the magic invisible knot?! 🥰🤩💝💖
This end-of-the-row hack is great! I’ve used the knot in the middle of the row but not at the end. Thanks for this tip. (I’ve been crocheting for almost 60 years. There’s always something new to learn!)

Yes! That’s one of the reasons I love it so much!
My concern is whether washing and drying will cause the knot to fall apart over time. I think I need to make a doll-sized blanket with lots of color changes, and wash and dry it a number of times. Maybe then I could relax and enjoy this technique. I truly hate weaving in ends, and I do avoid projects with lots of color changes.
Just magical. Thanks soooo much! ❤
WOW! Thank you so very much!! I have been crocheting for 50+ years, and this is the first time I have seen this technique. I am forever grateful!! 😁💐
I love this hack! I'm making a shawl of many colors from my blanket leftovers for a church friend who is always cold.

This sounds perfect for that!
I have not done this yet but I am sure it will save me A LOT of frustration. I am the type of person that when I find imperfections within my projects I hate the whole thing and want to start over but I think this might be perfect!
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!! This is a total game changer for me. I’ve watched several other magic knot videos but yours is the absolute BEST! The others were just too confusing. Yours is simple and comes out perfectly every time! Thanks again! ❤
Wow!!! Thank you! You may have changed my life. 🎉

You're so welcome! 😄
I've been doing this for a long time and love your explanation on how to do the knot at the end of a row. I also find that if the knot at the end is a little noticable, a border will hide it. Thanks for another great video!

Yes, that's a great point!
I love the way you worked out how to get the knot hidden in the last stitch. So clever. I also understand why someone wouldn’t want all those knots (even though they’re small), but I tend to weave in like the world is ending so the bulk of all the back and forths would be bigger than a knot anyway, making this a big improvement for the things I make. Thanks for sharing!
#lifesaver I'm working on a blanket with multiple color changes right now and just tried this magic knot method for changing colors (I've always use the magic knot to add same-color yarn, but never used it for changing colors). It's official...I will never weave in another end again 😂. MANY, many thanks!! Keep the tips and tricks coming!!
My wife says ::MINDO BOMB:: and thanks for the tip!! Love the humorous approach to crafting.
Oh my gosh! I’ve used the knot when switching from one ball to another because I ran out of yarn but using it to change colors is brilliant. Thank you for sharing this. I will definitely be using this.

I've been using this magic knot for a couple years. I found it here on KZread but don't recall the lady's channel. The only time I've ever had it come out is if the knots weren't tight enough & too close to the ends. So, be sure knots are pulled as tight as possible.

THANK YOU !!! YOU HAVE SOLVED ALL MY CROCHET PROBLEMS ❤️TYSM😭❤️
I just started using the knot to add another skein and loved it so much, this is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!❤
That first hack has been a life saver for me!! Thank you for sharing this!
I did it ; I did it!,, finally😂😊
This is sooooo awesome! I really don’t like weaving in and I put knots in my weave ins anyway because I’m scared of things unraveling so this is perfect!
Hey girl, omg this is a great tip for projects like temperature blankets. I've used that knot to continue projects when I run out but never thought about using that trick other ways. Thanks for sharing
Thank you, like others I have used this to connect in the middle but not the end. Hack accepted!!! You are a life saver!
I am going to try that thank you for sharing
I use this when a ball of yarn ends but Not when changing colours but I will be now I didn’t even think about using it when changing colours that’s brilliant thankyou for showing us this.

Sure thing! It took a little practice getting the knot situated just right for it to be hidden in the stitch, but I'll never turn back!
WOW! WOW! WOW! Thank you! ✨💖✨
Thank you, Dear One! 😘❤️🌹
I have been crocheting for over 45 years. I never saw this before, it's awesome. Thank you so much
I just used this trick on some baling twine on my goat's hay net, total game changer. I'll be sure to use it in my crochet too! Thank you!😍 Love from Maine, Deb
😂Haha I'm actually working on a temperature blanket this year and wanted to start tying in all my loose ends so I don't have to do it all at the end of the year. I saw this video and was like, this might be the answer to my problem Lolll
I'm a beginner on my first color block blanket. This knot is amazing!
To answer, "then what?": if an end happens to reveal itself, don't trim! Weave it back in. I also tell that to anyone I gift or sell a make to. I leave the tails a little long on purpose, and weave them very well, but even so, it can happen. This method would prevent that, so it appears to be a good method. Thanks for the video.
Great video! I’m working on my first bigger project with lots of colour changes and it’s been a nightmare to weave all the threads. This has helped so much and got me excited to continue again!
Good morning. I use this all the time now. I found this out a few months ago and I will not go back weaving in ends. Love your channel. Hugs Donna 💚

Hi Donna! Good to hear you've had success with it too!
Thanks for saving my temperature blanket! I was ready to give up. This is an amazing tip!
I love the magic knot. Discovered it about a year ago. Thank you for showing how to use it at the end of a row. I think it makes my work so much neater. I never have been very good at weaving in ends.
I don't mind the almost invisible knot, it is worth it! Thank you for giving excellent directions! I am learning these tips and tricks that are saving us! Thank you!
I LOVE YOU FOR SHOWING THIS HACK. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH.
This is great! Thank you! Starting my temp blanket next year. I’m ready!
Great tips Brittany! Thanks for sharing!🤗
I use this technique all the time. It really works good
Thank you! Just started my temperature blanket and started out the first couple rows by crocheting over the ends (weave in as you go method) but I hate the little ends that poke through, and all the extra bulk it adds to the beginning of the new row. Im going to switch to the knot method and just pray the ones i already crocheted over will hold. Thank you for saving my sanity as I finish this project. I cant tell you how many times ive avoided projects because i didnt want to weave in ends.
Thank you for this absolutely fabulous hack.
I learned this knot from tying onto my fishing line! Always have used it in crochet too!
That is an awesome idea Tiffany
I hope both sides of your pillow are cold, I hope you hit all green lights while traveling, and I hope you know you are a blessing for this. It may be an old trick but your video came at the perfect time
So glad I watched this! great tip
Thanks so much for this amazing tip which I've already put to good use in a couple of projects. Thank you
This is perfect timing. Today im starting a twin size blanket every row is a color change 😌 I've been putting it off for years they don't even make some of the colors anymore but I'm determined to start and finish it this tip is perfect 👌 had I known about the knot trick I might have started 10 years ago. Thank you very much your knowledge is appreciated 🙏 😊
Big help thank you!
I love the Magic Knot. I hate sewing my ends in. The more you do it, the better you get.
I love the magic knot.
I've used this to add another skein but never at an end, very helpful thank you.🤛👍
Wow!!!!❤ I love it..thank you ❤️
This is the best tip ever

amazing!!! thnaks
Oh why didn’t I see this idea BEFORE I started my Temperature Blanket last January 1!!!!!! But I will start this the rest of the way! Thank you 😊
This teally helped. Did skinny Hogwarts scarfs and this hack worked wonders. Thank you so much.
Thanks!
I use this technique all the time.
Glad I watches your video . I tie a knot like you showed in the middle of a row , but I never saw that you trim the yarn . So I would do the knot and leave a tail , but I guess I have double security from coming loose . Ha Ha Have a great day .
I use the magic knot all the time. It helps if you keep your hook in the stitch when tying on the new color/skein

Good to know! I'll have to try that :)
Thank you 🙏🏽
This is a clever connection. I've used it for making pendants with leather cord.... so, why didn't it dawn on me to use it on a million color changes over the years ? LOL Thanks !! be well 🦋
Hell yeah girl!!!!😊
I do this all the time.
That's so cool 😎
Thank you, this was great. One tiny thing that drives me crazy: "skein" is pronounced "skayne" in US and British and Canadian pronunciation (it's from an old French word that uses "aigne" for the "ei" sound). Sorry but it drives me crazy...short drive, eh? haha! Great videos!! M
I didn't think about doing it on the ends, I've always done it to attach another skien but not to color change. Thank you.

Glad it was helpful!
Fantastic! Do you think it works with velvet yarn aswell?
Ohhhh I didn't know how to lone ot up at the end of the row! I've used it for a colour change in the middle
THANK YOU for this! Why I haven't done this before, I have no idea? 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
I do the first!
Can you use it on super bulky yarn? I'm starting a blanket soon and will use 2 colors.
I was just watching this video while I was feeding my baby, and he stopped eating to watch and smile at you 😂
Do these knots ever come undone?
Please help, I'm already one month in with my temperature blanket, is it possible to make this knot on ends that are already poking out?
I prefer the magic knot.
I use the magic knot a lot, but you have to be careful, if you're using a slippery type of yarn, like a dk I've just finished 3 blankets with, magic knots can come undone (ask me how I know lol)
THANK YOU . I burned the end to avoid the weaving.
I luv you 🎉
When I add new skeins I use a double square knot

Me, too - or a 'surgeon's knot. No angst whenever I crochet.
It’s such a great hack but surprisingly it came undone when I had to pull really hard- even after I had tugged really hard on it to secure it before snipping the ends! I was so surprised but glad it came undone when it did before I went further with my stitches. And I followed how to do the knot step by step. 🤷🏻♀️ it was a soft cotton so I don’t know if that’s why? Maybe more slippery than other yarns?
@bhookedcrochet

Wow, I've never had one come undone yet! The slippery yarn idea sounds like it's worth testing

I think the tutorial I watched said to go over the top of the working yarn when tying 1 knot & under when tying the 2nd knot. It seems to make a difference in how the knots seat together.

You’re not doing it right. This knot has MANY names and MANY uses and probably originated thousands of years ago. Going fishing with my Granddaddy is where I learned, tying a new fishing line on so ya can keep fishing if you snap your line. Rock climbing, creating a solid rope with 3 or 4 short pieces. Practicing this knot may be easier to learn using a thicker yarn or even a couple shoe laces.
If changing color every row or every other row, I've seen the yarn carried along the entire width of the row every time necessary but I can't imagine wasting all that yarn. Ok, if it's a small baby blanket, probably not so bad, but something larger seems excessive waste. I'd rather take my chances with the magic knot. I use it often and it's easy and never seen a failure.
@bhookedcrochet
Жыл бұрын
That’s really good to know that you’ve never seen a failure!
Great tips. also, I'm sure you know this by now: the 'ei' in skein is pronounced the same as the 'ei' in neighbor. Sounds like a long 'A'. tfs!
Can I do this for granny squares too?
Good advice. You’re so funny 😊 Tell me about the chair you are sitting in….
I really wanna try this but I must be missing. When I try the method when you run out of yarn, its all attached and I can't use the yarn
What about using the "Russian Join" to connect the two colours? Mark the end of yarn where the next new coloured row wil start, undo a couple of stitches, connect the two colours making sure the join is as close the the mark with the russian method, trim any extra tails, re-do the undone stitch and et voila! Start new row with new colour and all tails would already be woven securely.
@bhookedcrochet
Жыл бұрын
You can definitely do that with some yarns, but the Russian join usually doesn’t work with acrylics or cottons 👍
Can you do that with knitting
I swore off knots in all my stuff a while ago. Magic knit hasn't come undone yet for me but it looks terrible in knitting. Decided to knot (hehehe) risk it unraveling on me and to just suck it up and weave in the joins.
I used this technique on my blanket but when finished and ready borderthe knots wouldn't stay hidden 😢I feel like it made the blanket look bad. I don't know how to make it look better
How does it go when you use it something that gets washed? Does the knot loosen and come undone?
@stonecrestquilt

No. It’s permanent
My biggest beef with crochet, weaving in ends.
Thank you so much for this and confirming weaving in ends is pointless. I also love your sense of humor.
